About Me I'm retired, like to sing in big choruses, and am tired of waiting for the SEGEIS to be approved for drilling for gas.

Dear Anderson,
You've been DUPED! That couple that claimed their 50 year old house was ruined by seismic thumper trucks have pulled the wool over your eyes. We have lived on our dairy farm in upstate NY for 50 years and have been thumped at least four times since we have been here. Our house was built in the 1850's, sits maybe 25' from a very busy hi-way, and has never suffered any cracks or damage other than shaking windows from those thumper trucks, Regular 18 wheelers do the same thing. The gas companies are trying to open the Marcellus shale here in upstate, and the State has a moratorium on it until their guidelines are approved. I'll tell you one thing, we as retired dairy farmers are going to lose our land to outrageous taxes if the gas leases don't go forward, and there are a lot of people against drilling, especially those downstate, because we have most of your water sources, and they are afraid the drilling is going to ruin the water. Untrue, it can be done safely, why would anyone want to ruin the water that we all need. You've opened a can of worms, I feel for those folks, but I doubt that anything but poor construction ruined their house. I have the utmost respect for Erin Brockovitch, but I think she needs to do more research on this problem.
Thanks for listening, Julie Moore
