Love your show, and very upset it has been cancelled. Where would I find a copy of the video you showed with the dog wearing booties for the first time?
Although thee Church of Scientology is a weird example to draw from, all the work this girl described as "child labor" was everything my friends and I had to do as kids. Except before feminists took over, this wasn't child labor, it was "developing a work ethic." Moving loads of rocks, gravel and railroad ties was something we spent our whole summers doing.
If it were possible here, I could show you my friends house on Google Maps where you can see the huge patio and steps down to the lower yard that he and I layed brick for and used railroad ties as the steps down and accents around the perimeter. We were 11 when we built it and it's still there 44 years later.
Nice to see you doing some segments that are right up your alley so to say in getting the real story out like you did with the Scientology guest & Trever Project - but knowing you there nwas more to their story than what you got today. Thanks for info on donating to Trevor project -would like to donate. By the way tried to get one of those minbi me's of you but was told they are not available to the public just made espec for your show - shucks would like to have one for my AC collection. The hypnotist was good - my daughter went to someone called Romaine for stop smoking and it worked. The co-host you had on Feb.4 that was so interested in your family background - her comment "Be careful what you wish for - balance is - you just might get it" is from your Moms book A Romance Memoir" which I really enjoyed - as for your comment about men in her life - I can just see her answering you - Priceless!! and I am sure your expression etc was to. Take care.
Great interview with Jenna Miscavige Hill today. Thank you Anderson for helping to expose the criminal cult of Scientology. More are finding out because of good journalists such as yourself and this is a good thing. Kudos!
I agree with all the "I means". I do believe her story about how she was raised and her experiences in Scientology, but all the "I means" detracted so much from what she was saying I started to focus on just the "I means".
And nurse Joy---do you realize that segment about child obesity was on nyesterday's show, not today's?
Yoiu've posted in nthe wrong place and the person who said nobody will read it all is right.
The girl drove crazy saying "I mean" in all here responses. She needs better coaching if she is gonna do interviews.
Really loved the show today!! Anderson and Tiffani have a great rapport, love the fact she is such a great supporter of animal rescue...please have her back as Co-Host. Also, what a wonderful story for Cason and his efforts to support the "Trevor Project".
Luck and success on your next two climbs!!!!
Hey Joy---you realize nobody is going to read your post don't you?
It's way too long---and boring besides. I quit after the first paragraph.
Nobody needs to have you tell them what to do with their children, and anybody who wants help won't want it from some annonymous person who posts on a message board. If they want or need help, they will seek it out from their own doctor or a nutritionist, etc who actually knows the child and the family situation. And if they don't want any help, they aren't going to even read your post, let alone get anything from it.
I watch the show every day and sometimes the co-host is somebody I've never heard of before.
Of course, everybody over 30 knows who Tiffany Amber Theissen is.
She is still attractive and fun, but her laugh is horribly unfeminine and terribly annoying!
OMG! It was like nails on a chalkboard.
I think she should go to a voice coach or some place to help her make her laugh a lot less loud and irritating. It's a laugh you'd expect from Honey Boo Boo's mother, not an attractive, reasonably sophisticated, middle-aged woman like Tiffinie.
About the mom having her child on a diet. I'm a nurse who sees children who have obesity and secondary health issues that are directly related to that. Some of these kids are in dire need of change & it appears with her child at 7 with blood pressure issues, that it was at this stage.
I don't think to some extent that the message and the way she handled it was done well based upon her past issues with dieting and weight issues.
I think as a mom she ultimately wanted the best for her daughter. However, in my practice I focus on healthy choices and not calorie counting. I focus on fun and play, with the focus of having the kids do things they love. getting the parents involved to make food accessible, having the kids make healthy, yummy food with their parents. The focus on fun and that health is fun and that healthy food is more yummy than what is considered, "kid's menu, happy meal, etc."
I had those choices to make too with being 29 at the time and facing major health issues. Ultimately it was up to me to see food in a different way. I now call it a healthy discipline. I don't feel deprived, I don't count calories, or focus on fat; but I do focus on the choices. I will have an occasional treat or fried food, but rarely now.
I am now 34.
The focus is MyPlate.gov
Protein: lean organic chicken, salmon, cod, tuna, grass-fed lamb, eggs, beans, lentils, buffalo, turkey. Less pork and very rarely beef. No soy.
Grains: rice brown and white, quinoa, buckwheat, noodles, pasta bread and tortillas. Portion control is key!
No processed grain products, because they are usually high in salt and sugar.
I love cookies, cake- so I eat them once in awhile and I make sure to enjoy it!
I make pies-so these are seasonal and on holidays.
With these treats, I usually will eat some homemade soup with lots of veggies and other things. I again don't focus on deprivation but a healthy relationship with food.
No canned processed food- except for water-canned tuna, beans, and tomato products without or low salt.
No fast food.
Dairy: goat milk/yogurt and goat/sheep's cheese only. Cow milk/cheese very rarely, butter even more rarely. I found for myself I lost weight just changing from cow's milk to goat's milk as it was easier to digest.
Fruit: lots of it! Especially blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Citrus, pears, and apples. I try to eat my fruit rather than drink it. I avoid smoothies and jambs juice. High in sugar with the facade of health.
Lots of veggies!
Chard, kale, spinach, carrots, red bell peppers, green beans, peas, onions, shallots, jicama, daikon, corn, pea shoots, bok choy.
I make a lot of soups and stews.
I eat less peanut butter and less salad dressing.
I drink lots of peppermint tea and drink lots of water.
I still eat chocolate and goat milk ice cream but not as often.
I think really the focus should be here is building positive relationships with food for a seven year old by getting her interactive by engaging her in cooking recipes by making it fun and getting her to do fun activities like dancing with mom in the living room, going to the waterpark, running around with friends playing tag.
She doesn't need to know about calories, fat, or anything like that because i feel it's just not age appropriate. It makes more sense for her self esteem and life long health just seeing the example of her mom enjoying making healthy food that tastes good.
