Shoplifting is about lost of power as your guest revealed about her personal history. Her choices were taken from her and shoplifting gives a temporary sense of power. The lost of self and feeling less than, Marie uses the items as gifts which enhances her power and the value of acceptance. I have no judgement for these women and to do so is unjust. I want to say your ok, and I wish you enlightment, on your journey.

I grew up in Eastern Europe, a country that has the highest level of alcoholism in the world. Since i remember my parents had a glass of wine for dinner, and maybe even more at parties. And not only that, They always gave us the children 50gr of wine with dinner as well. I am 28 now, and for sure not an alcoholic, i still do have maybe a half a glass of wine from time to time. I finished college with good grades, know 3 languages and successful business woman. So, having a glass of wine a day it doesn't mean you are a bad parent.

I do not think that having a drink is ever good for anyone and sets a bad example for the kids maybe one mom says the kids know grownups can do things they can not do but what about when they grow up they do not stay young forever and parents are the ones who sets the example for them. as for shoplifting that is a no no in any walk of life and these parents should pay the price for what they do.

Shoplifting Moms.....ridiculous.....are you kidding me. You can`t blame all your choices on a bad childhood or not being appreciated enough as a mother...give me a break! Being a mother means you are very seldom appreciated lol lol You are behaving in a spoiled manner. Move to Africa for a month and then see if your tendancies to take what you think are missing in your life to fill the void is still there. Live on a dirt floor in a hut and get a feeling for what you should be thankful for. We are not entitled to everything in our lives. Get a grip and wake up ....it`s not ok! You should meet up with true adversity in your life and then maybe you would sing a different tune!

Wow, I can't even imagine having any of these problems! I am so fortunate. I love to watch Anderson because if I am feeling like my life sucks sometimes I watch and then "thank God, again" because my life is good and I love life. Everyday is a challenge for me sometimes I have several Chronic serious illnesses but I live, I love, I play with my granddaughter, I have friends and I can do about whatever I want within my limitations (which I ignore a lot)so, I don't know if I would have ever had a drink on a play date because in a whole lot of homes with children it was never even a possibility, we were too busy interacting with each other and our children, old-fashioned, huh? So should they drink, well whether we like it or not in this society we judge other people pretty quickly and it was said once a long time ago "you should never judge another until you have walked a mile in their shoes". Why people do the things they do cannot be determined so quickly. How they were raised, what has happened in their lives to this point. So many things, ever person different, every reaction different. I love the show because I get to think about so much but I just don't feel I am qualified to say what these people should or should not do because their life is a multitude of situations and reactions. I do believe shows like yours is a great place to become aware of what is going on around us

It is ridiculousness that anyone would say that because you are a mom you cannot have one drink with dinner. Unless you are drunk you are not impaired. The women at the show who had three glasses was drunk ... we are not having three glasses on an empty stomach! Come on! I strongly believe that growing up with parents who would have the casual drink with dinner taught me how to drink responsibly. I have gone through my teens and 20s and never been drunk once in my life. I was raised in a religious family and I have friends who were raised in similar environments only that their families banned all alcohol. Many of those friends went on to drink heavily in college when away from their parents. Let's teach our kids how to be responsible with alcohol before they leave our homes.

This show is making me angry. It's BETTER for parents to drink responsibly in front of their kids than for them to make it taboo. It's very well documented that people drink more moderately in Europe because they are exposed to responsible drinking their whole lives, as opposed to here in America where we binge drink so much.

As for the Dr. saying people drink more today, I absolutely disagree. People used to drink more at every occasion. My grandfather drank martinis at lunch everyday, and drinking and driving was considered acceptable.

I think moms can have a drink on playdates in moderation,I beleive these women are putting to much on drinking because your a mom. we are not to stop our life but there are some things that you do change. After along day of work and you come home you work with the kids on homework and get dinner going. yes it is relaxting to sit and have a drink. you can still be a wonderful mom if your child needs you. it's different if you are a person you just cann't hold your liquids .

I moved to a gated, upper middle-class neighborhood when my son was 2 years old and was appalled by the number of moms with young children who drink alcohol at playdates. Some even gave park playdates themes, like "Blue Moon" Tuesday or "Mexican Beer Day". These moms did not have one beer either, I assure you. One mom regularly shows up at the park with her children and a picnic basket filled with snacks for the kids and sangria for mommy. One year, I took my son to the community Easter egg hunt and one mom wreaked of alcohol as she pulled her kids around in a wagon. Turns out she had a big party at her house for parents and kiddos prior to going to the egg hunt. When I was fairly new to town, I organized a "Mom's Group" as a way for moms to connect with one another, there was a huge falling out between moms who wanted to collect dues and spend the money on wine and moms who didn't feel that was appropriate! As for driving, many of these moms think because they drive around our community in golf carts that it's somehow safer, but I disagree. Sure, the max speed is 25 mph, but people (or kids) can easily get thrown from the cart. I'm not saying every mom who lives here behaves this way, but there are certainly quite a few who think it is acceptable. Sadly, I looked into moving to a similar community about 30 minutes away and heard that moms at their playdates often bring wine. I thought maybe this was an issue in affluent areas, but I'm not so sure.

As kids, both my brother and I watched our parents come home drunk or gotten drunk at home when they had a party. We were both so disgusted with their behaviour, that we are both moderate drinkers During our teen years, we both did have our times with getting drunk, but, as adults, chose to maintain our sobriety.

Are you telling me that as a mom, I'm not allowed to ever socialize; go out; have a beer;EVER. I have to wait until my kid is 18 and moves out. I must be a horrible mom. Shame on me for wanted to relax with a glass of wine after putting my child to bed. No I don't drive... I don't even have a license. There is a big difference between the drunk mom passed out on the sofa and a mom who has a glass of wine with dinner. Way to go with the social experiment..ridiculous and totally unrealistic. Now I know why I don't watch daytime television.

Anderson,I chuckled when I saw how excited you were talking about the Dyson Vacuum. My husband has the same obsession. He LOVES his Dyson, will not let me use it, vacuums every day and makes a point of showing me how much dirt is in the canister! It's a vacuum!
