I saw the show on 5/23/13 about the Westboro Baptist church,& I am curious if you will I interview anyone who does have a "truly"Biblical perspective on the issues that this church rants about. It is completely factual that homosexuals will go to hell for their life style, but God DOES NOT HATE the person, just the sinful lifestyle. It is also true according to a Godly Biblical perspective that those who condone such a lifestyle are equally guilty of that lifestyle & will be judged according to that evil thought process by God.So,my question is will you do a proper follow up on this story with a good minister such as Ed Young, or even myself, or will you just leave the subject as it is and do another injustice by attempting to be viewed as neutral which is no better than condoning all at risk behaviors.
God doesn't make mistakes,so who you love isn't anybody's business.
This so-called preacher is the one going to hell.
I just saw the show regarding The Westboro Babptist Church, and I agree that to me it seems that, that group is a hate group and to me I think that it is a cult, anytime that a "church" represents anything as to kill, hate, or anything that represents harm in my book that is a cult and not a church... I was taught that we as Christians we are supposed to love one another and our enemies but hate the sin.... GOD still loves us but hates our sinful life...and that is what the Bible teaches us... in the church that I attend, Houston NW Church in Houston, Tx. (www.hnw.org) that is what we are taught and in no time they tell us to go and picket or go out and committ violent crimes, scenes and or actions against anyone and or group... We provide for the homeless, orphans and widows, and anyone in need... I congratulate Ms. Libby Phelps Alvarez from running away from that Church i.e. Cult...
I liked todays show, however, I do feel that Libby's presence on the show is contrived. Watch her as the mother of the fallen soldier talks. Libby appears to be touched, but look closely and you will see her emotions are not real. She was more interested with fixing her hair than shedding one single tear (or at least that I could see). Like she said herself, The "Church" is all about publicity. I truely feel her "leaving" the church was just a huge plot by the Church themselves to get her onto the show for public view. Her story doesnt add up with her gay best friend either. Thats what makes me question her motives. Dont be surprized if a little down the line, you find Libby back protesting with the rest of them. If I am wrong, then I am wrong and I hope I am. By the way, I was touched and even emotional when Sterlings mother ended her address to Libby with what community and church really is. Bravo!
I would like to commend Libby for questioning her family's beliefs and for having the courage to leave, fully understanding what was at stake. She seemed to be genuinely upset & sorry for the pain she & her family inflicted on so many people. I truly hope she moves forward in positive & loving light.
Hey Anderson really enjoyed the segment with Libby Phelps from that Westboro Baptist church. This is just what you are so good at -getting a real story out ins the other stuff you have had. Would have been interesting to have seen more & find out what path she plans to take now -all those ways taught to her from birth are not easily forgotten. I was incensed at her grandfathers rant on you in clip shown - how dare he, but then he is full of such anger which is in no way christian. Several years ago there was a movement called WWJD - what would Jesus do - there is no way that I nor many others would believe a loving God would act as this group does. Seems to me these people are growing a cult of hatred & dont believe that true christianity does or is that.Would be interesting to have her back and delve into more of the story.
Interesting her good friend is gay! How did/does her family feel about her choice now? I appreciate your comment that her grandfathers rant against you goes with the territory -NO - you do not deserve that and neither does anyone else her grandfather & his followers are the ones who need prayers. Such a nice gesture on your part to personally give that soldiers parents a hug - but what else would Anderson do!
Loved the dog clip now I know what that breed looks like -he is so sweet -he will do the ladies proud! Take care.
As hard as it is sometimes to listen to other people and their opinions no matter how strongly we disagree with them it is important to remember that our military members have fought for the freedoms we all enjoy. Even though these people choose to protest families at their most vulnerable moments no matter how narrow minded and fearful they are we must remember that we all enjoy these freedoms because someone fought for the social liberties. We need to support our military and the next time we see a hateful demonstration instead of fighting remind ourselves that we live in a country that allows us the right to express ourselves. Be grateful for our military members and their families as they are the ones who continue to make the sacrifices everyday.
I 1st saw these people in Provincetown almost 20 years ago and have to say it's really scary to see them in person. To hear them well, it makes your skin crawl. I forget how many times they've been in town but even once would have been enough.Like a lot in the past not to many people took notice of this group coming then because they were there mainly to attack us (gay people)but now after many gay death's(murder's) and all our dead soldiers,oh yeah now it's a problem and noticed. Well the past is the past so now what we have to do is stop these people and any other like them from gaining any notoriety, EVER!!!!
Bless the Patriot Guards
I wish that church (Westbro Baptist Church)as they call them self would rot in hell this is not what God planned for anyone
Sherry...God bless and much love from a Mother of two soldiers. The more these fools spout the more foolish they prove themselves to be. Big love to the Freedom riders...may they continue their patriotism.
They are picketing the Soldiers that give them to right to free speech. If they cant support them...then give up the right and shut up :(
I want to comment on Michele Obama's guest at the state of the union address. I was offended that she choose to include a 20 year old male illegal immigrant. The President was talking about how to restart our economy and the middle class and spoke of how to get 11 million illegals on track to legally become citizens (which I'm all for), and hers sat an illegal as slap in the face of americans facing extreme hardships right now...what about asking a born and bred american out of work to that treat!? I am so disgusted by this..
After your comments yesterday, Anderson, you do not deserve to have the Westminster BIS winner on your show.
when will kayla slone be on your show?
