Dr. Gupta, broccoli does NOT have more protein/gram than chicken. Please be careful to avoid misleading information. I agree with your message but your delivery is misleading and incorrect sometimes. Broccoli has more protein/calorie than chicken...which means if you have 100calories of broccoli vs. 100calories of chicken, then you get more protein from broccoli. Well, you'd have to eat more broccoli compared to chicken to get the same amount of protein. Also, the protein in veggies is not complete (as in meats) so you have to eat a variety of veggies to get all the essential amino acids you need. Keeping in mind that meat has cholesterol and fat (which is not an issue with veggies) then vegetables are a great choice.

Looking up right now chicken has 30 grams of protein in 3 oz vs 4grams in a cup of broccoli. Dr Gupta should stick to medicine and not give nutrition information which is not evidenced based. Moderation of meat, dairy, and oil is good, but elimination is questionable for the general public. Giving out partial truths or untruths is a disservice to the public.

Love watching repeat shows. I missed this one. I'm a fan of both you and Dr Gupta. I hope you invite him to be on your show more often. He offers lots of insight into health issues and I learn alot.
Love you and love your show Anderson. Congrats on everything you've accomplished so far.

Oh! Ms Piggy is adorable. But now about interviewing Cookie Monster. He's my favorite. (just saying)

I just saw the re-airing of this show, with Dr. Gupta. As a scientist I get upset when mistakes or spin on scientific subjects takes place, because the public believes Everthing that is on the tube... So, when Dr. Gupta very confidently said that broccoli had more protein than chicken, I almost fell over. Anderson certainly didn't believe him. But... in the spirit of logic and understanding, in what context did Dr. Gupta make this statement? Or did he have a senior moment? lol.... Love ur show, Anderson, except

like you I did not believe there was more protein in broccoli than meat---- there is not more protein per gram in broccoli ------ 1 oz of meat= 7 gm of protein------ 1 oz of broccoli = 0.85 gm of protein

Dr. Sanjay Gupta said "broccoli has more protein per gram than chicken". This statement is NOT true. A 100 grams of broccoli has about 3 grams of protein. A 100 grams of chicken has about 32 grams of protein. I wish I had seen the original airing of this show so a disclaimer could have been given about this misstatement.

I watched your program on medical mistries that showed on foxla on 7/17/2012 at 1 PM.The 2 girls that you had on with twiching arms and head caught my attesion. My niece who lives in White city, oregon has a similar condition and has not been able to get it diognosed by any medical people to date. She had a job with Wallmart for 12 years, worked up the ladder to supervisor, until this condition hit her 2 months ago and ended up losing her job and health insurance. Is there any way to contact the doctors you had on from the Mass. hospital? Jill is 31 years old and is about to lose her house because of medical bills and no insurance. One doctor thought sleep apnia may be the cause, but your guests commented it could be mental due to stress. I would apreciate any help you can give.

Anderson, thank you for Sanjay Gupta's segment Thursday. I DVR & watch every morning. Seeing the cloudy blood is something I will remember. Kindly consider a more in-depth show regarding blood health. After the segment I wanted to learn more. How long does the blood remain cloudy? Can that cloudy blood impair focus? Here's what I found on line regarding the topic I'm interested in - Felice N. Jacka, Ph.D., featured in the January 4, 2010, edition of the American Journal of Psychiatry states that women eating a typical American diet of processed and fatty foods were twice as likely to suffer from depression and anxiety disorders than those eating a healthy diet.
