Hi Anderson,

I watched your show on addiction and my wife is an acholic and I desperate to get her the help she needs. She has been in four facilities here in MIchigan and we cannot afford a week stay let alone it is not long enough. I was watching Kristina talk and was very impressed with her. Is there anyway you could help us. I saw they have scholarship at places. Could you help us. It would mean the world for me to get my sober wife back!

my son Scott has been an heroin addict since 2001. He has a son now & I hoped it would help change him. Unfortunately he took a dose of heroin again this past week & his fiancée kicked him out. He is suppose to go to Clear Concepts today. Is there any hope for him. I've prayed without ceasing for my son to no avail. He has no job or money. Is there any help out there to save my son. His cousin died of heroin in April 2008 & I don't want to lose him.

Re: The Lost Years: it is indeed a tragedy to have a daughter who goes through addiction. However, it is not the worst thing. The worst thing is to have that daughter die. While the addict is still alive, even if in jail, there's always hope. But once you zip your child's body into a body bag, you have been through the worst. I know both situations.

I sent you info about the fact that I was robbed of my Social Security check from a Direct Express card that was supposed to be "The safest way to get your Social Security money." Millions of people are getting their Social Security money this way and I want to warn them to be careful. The bamboozled column of the Newark, NJ Star Ledger got my money back for me. See the article on NJ.com, bamboozled. I thought it would make a good topic for your show because you reach many more people than I could reach with the newspapaer article.

Glad Soledad's daughter said "NO" when her mother asked if they should give her guinea pig CJ to Anderson for "a little bit", especially after he talked about eating guinea pigs! Why would he say that? Not funny!

It is up to parents to instill a sense of self-worth in their children, but the media is also responsible. As far as race is concerned, you don't really see many dark blacks on TV. Most of them look like Soledad.

The problem is that society has a stereotype standard of "beauty" which it values over different appearances and more important qualities. Unfortunately, all of us are guilty of falling into that frame of mind. Even Anderson makes remarks about people's appearances all the time and people make remarks about his. We need to give more consideration to the inner beauty and less to those misleading outer "appearances".

Disabled children also suffer from negative self-worth, but their suffering is often ignored. We need to look at that.

I'm really tired of hearing about drug addicts. There are so many people more worthy of our sympathy. Mallory did this to herself. No one forced that heroin into her veins. Her parents are also responsible. Why didn't Anderson ask where Mallory's father was?

Stop coddling these addicts by sending them to fancy rehab facilities and start forcing them take responsibility for their own mistakes.

I wish Anderson would confront the celebs who are in favor of legalizing hard drugs. There will be many more "Mallorys" created if those drugs become legal.

monday Jan. 7th
I just finished watching the addiction sequence and I am weeping right now. Aug.5th 1990 My addicted brother came to me for help and i offered to bring him back to the rehab that he had quit after only 6 weeks or so. He did`nt want to go,so I sent him away. He later went to my mother, the same thing happened, He prnissed my mom she would have his body within 48 hours. Aug,6th and the police came to tell us that his body wes found by the St laurence river, probable OD. I had to go identify the body and to this day I feel gulty for not helping him. How do I stop feeling this way

I watched your show today and was interested in the segment concerning Mallory who is addicted to heroin. For the past two years I have been going through the same thing with my wife, so I understand the pain, and frustration that the mother is going through. I understand what Mallory is going through having to see it everyday myself. Nothing will change unless Mallory takes control of her own life, and her addiction and want to change. It's easy for addicts to tell people what they want to hear, and it's easy for us to "enable" them without even knowing that we're doing so. I try to stand by my wife and support her through her addiction, through her struggle to get clean and stay clean, which is what I believe I'm supposed to do as her husband. But none of that matters if she doesn't want to get clean. In the past year I have noticed that it is easier for an addict to continue using than it is to want to change their life, to save their own life. I watch my wife everyday lie to everyone who loves her and cares about her as she continues using, continues coming up with ways to use. She is currently on probation, involved with drug court, and has to take a urinalysis three times a week, but even that doesn't stop her from wanting to go out and use. I know that my wife is going to die if she doesn't stop using. Currently she is sitting in the county jail for a contempt of court for not showing up for court, and what scares me about that is that I fear that when she gets out next week she will figure out a way to use again. I have done everything in my power to try and get her dealer off of the streets, have reported him to the police four times and he is still out here dealing. Mallory, just like my wife, is not going to stop using unless they decide that they want to live. My wife has gone to countless NA meetings, just because the court forces her to, gets a paper signed and goes out and uses again. I really enjoyed this segment of the show, I love my wife and want her to live not die, want her to have a life without drugs, and I learned that the best thing to do is to let her go until she gets the help that she needs. I've already told her that if she uses again, and doesn't get help, I will leave her. Thank you for that part of your show today.

How sad and at the same time funny. As a seasoned journalist you put on a rehab program including a referral to a 12 step program that admittedly has less than a 5% success rate. These rehab facilities are a rip-off for the poor and helpless people with addictions. Taking their last penny while returning nothing with a very few exceptions. (Check out Pine Grove Rehab in Hattiesburg, MS, the program for Tiger Wood(s)? )
Now that you have perpetuated this fraud, you owe to the millions of addicts to do a program on the drug Baclofen and all its success in treating addictions. (If you use an Apple computer, type in the word Baclofen, hold down the "control" key and hit "Enter". Even there it mentions the early stages of research). The people who have been cured just smile while the country waits for the FDA to get around to approving the drug for treatment of addictive behavior. If you explore the social networks or do a search for a "cure for alcoholism", you will see how ridiculous your program was to a bunch of cured addicts who sat and watched. If you fail to produce a program on Baclofen and its success rates, then you must also be a fraud!
Unless people like you with your national exposure do something, the big money in rehab and 12 step programs will never let the FDA consider this drug for addiction treatment. Of course, the independent thinkers in this nation don't need the FDA's approval.

You spoke of a girl who does not like her skin color. She is looking for the ancient American Indian custom of the tribal bath; composed of Laurel and Echinacea the latin name Agustafolia. It is older than the mud bath, this is the first bath. There is no such thing as black skin. It is now part of the Secularization clinic located on the military base especially in Pittsburgh. It is about to become very popular . This is what the first Million Man march was about. They know they are not black. They have their before and after photos. Like Nat King Cole. The first movie Nat King Cole I'm told is him before he was covered. Also Ertha Kit, her early movies she is normal with a long last name. We are taking care of the problem.
When a person is taken through the procedures for the certificate of Executive by the State you have to have a 46 room Executive home with 16 theme rooms, one is a tribal bath theme room. The house has to be solid concrete. No wood.
I'm about to go through this as a public role model. ExPresident George Bush Senior requested this.
I hope you will give the girl this message. Please!!
