'American Idol,' & Obsessed with Lifelike Baby Dolls. Plus, Edie Falco.
Today, the latest "American Idol" castoff, Deandre Brackensick, is live in our studio, talking about his shocking elimination and what it was like performing on the hit TV show and being mentored by Jennifer, Steven and Randy.
Then, in previous shows we've met people obsessed with cars, pets and food. Now, there's a new trend of amazingly lifelike baby dolls… called “reborn” dolls. Meet women who are obsessed with collecting these reborns -- taking care of them like real infants and even attending conferences in honor of them. What do you think? Are reborn baby dolls cute or creepy?
Former "Sopranos" star Edie Falco joins Anderson to discuss her role as a pill-popping nurse in the Showtime drama, “Nurse Jackie.” The four-time Emmy winner discusses her former battles with alcohol, and overcoming breast cancer. Edie also addresses the rumors of a “Sopranos” movie.

I love reborns, mine is being shipped out right now...I paid nowhere near $7,000 for her...
I dont think there is anything wrong with it, especially when it's behind closed doors...this reborn stuff is so normal to me after being apart of the reborn youtube community for a few months.
Cute. . . some people have an obsession with them yes, but thats an issue that the person has to deal with.
If you look at the doll itself it's really quite a unique doll. I know that some 6 years olds love to play dress up with there dolls, and act like a mommy.
I personally would not buy one for myself. but if an adult enjoys playing with theses doll and they don't neglect there real children and go to work everyday just like everyone else, pretty much if this hobby is not affecting a persons life negatively, than who cares. STOP JUDGING PEOPLE.
Creepy
The Reborn babies are really creepy to me! Doll collecting in one thing, but treating them like real babies is strange!
These people need to work in a Children's Hospital nursery and help real babies and families!
From the time I was small, I have always been intrigued by dolls. I also had the interest in Art that promoted a lifetime of creating dolls,...sculpting, painting, designing, costuming, etc. My background was in anatomy and muscle construction of faces so I studied and tried to make them as realistic as possible. It was a success if they were "real." I sold them internationally as well on the network shopping channels. I took one to the store on occasion to make sure that off-the-rack clothes would fit my creation and that whoever bought the dolls could change the clothes. I understand the intrigue of these dolls. Also, the other thing to realize is that these dolls are works of ART. Where can you "invest" a minimal amount of money for an ORIGINAL work of Art that is made ONLY FOR YOU? Are women going overboard? Not at all. If they are collectors and enjoy their collections then what's wrong with that?
Where can i get a copy of Nurse Jackie that you gave away on the show LOVE your show and I love Nurse Jackeie!!!
Reborns definitely reside in the Uncanny Valley.
It's as if somebody intentionally tried to create a doll that would be even creepier than a RealDoll.
I think those baby dolls are cute.I don't want to own one though because it's not just my kind of thing to do. I enjoy seeing them and maybe give one to my niece. It'll be creepy if someone get so obsessed with it like it has a life. That I think, will be the creepy part.
I love these dolls!!! I get them for my daughters because I think they are adorable but I do believe that sometimes people might go overboard with these dolls but it's each person to herself. I also believe these dolls can be therapeutic to some individuals.
I find the reborn dolls very creepy. People that are obsessed with them might need
some type of therapy. I feel something is missing in their lives.
Hello I am a reborner and also a collector of these dolls,I watched your show today, I know there is a lot of different feelings about these dolls. I think you should do a show where an actual doll is made this is an art, because you start with a blank kit and the finished product is a work of art.A lot of work goes into the making of these babies
I love the dolls! I think it's a great idea! I would love to get in to it! Where can I get one?!?
those dolls are definitely creepy but to each his/her own. as long as people aren't neglecting their families for them, i say do what you feel lol.
I still have my dolls from when I was little girl. As an only child, both parents worked and wanted to be left alone after work. I spent a lot of time in my room playing dolls. They really kept me from being lonely. I took good care of them, except "haircuts" I thought the hair would grow like mine. My "Walk With Me" dolls had long beautiful hair. I had short black hair. So I gave the little one a haircut, like mine. At least I meant to. Not so good. They creep my 21 year old son out. Always have. He saw "Chuckie" without my permission at a very young age. He shaved the hair off one like a Mohawk to make me mad. I made me sad. She has a wig I was going to donate to Goodwill. I lost a lot of hair in 2008 after a long surgery. He was just showing off to his friends, but the damage is done. Any ideas how to fix it? There are holes where the hair was put in. I could use the wig hair. I have a granddaughter I'd like to pass them to, but I want them to be pretty! I admit to collecting dolls. I saved my daughter's dolls too. I'd love one of those that the ladies make. I never saw a handicapped doll, but that would be dumb. Just a pretty, smiling, cutie pie. I didn't know I was weird! I think I'm a collector!
Anderson commented on Hoola Hoops. They may not be back for the kids but there are Hoola Hooping Excercis programs now.
