Inflammatory Breast Cancer is one of the most aggressive and deadliest forms of breast cancer yet not many know about IBC. Though routine self breast exams and mammograms are very important, IBC isn't detected as a lump. IBC typically begins with topical signs such as redness, warmness, skin dimpling, bug bite type of sore and/or inverted nipple. IBC is often misdiagnosed as an infection treated with a antibiotic. Please continue routine breast exams but consider the visual appearance of your breast as a warning indicator. IBC spreads quickly;time is of essence when treating this type of cancer. Don't be embarrassed to see your doctor immediately should you notice topical changes to your breast. Save a life and spread the word.
