Top Three Germ Hotspots in Restaurants

Friday, October 19, 2012 12:00PM

Restaurant consultant Howard Cannon joined "Anderson Live" to reveal what food items you should be cautious about, or avoid when you eat at a restaurant. Cannon explained, "The reality is, there are about 76 million cases of food borne illness in this country and 3,000 deaths."

Last season, viewers met mom Erin Carr-Jordan, Ph.D., a "renegade mom" whose efforts are bringing media attention to an alarming issue: the dangers found in indoor play areas for children. Erin shocked us when her lab studies exposed bacteria strands such as meningitis and gonorrhea found in restaurant play areas for children. Erin returns to update us on her work to establish regulations to keep indoor play areas safe from health and safety risks.

not sure if this is the right place but, i am watching the show now. the hotel messes are blamed on the hotel. i use to work in hotels. they force the cleaning staff to get a room done in a few minutes. thats why they dont have it as clean as they should be. if a hotel has 18 floors and over 300 rooms and 20 cleaning staff, they dont have alot of time to get the rooms cleaned as they should be. not an excuse but thats why they are as bad as they are. also the resturant outside play areas are that way because, from my view. if they use any kind of cleaner to get the place clean, people freak out about the chemicals. and if they use high pressure water hoses to clean they get in trouble because people say that they are wasting water. if we are demanding cleaner hotels and resturants and play areas, then those that complain about it being to clean need to get a grip. let the place clean it. let them over use the water. let the housekeeping staff take the time to clean. hotels let them only have a few minutes so they can get the room reused and make money. maybe if the people that work in the hotel and eating places would just step up and demand better and stop going to these places, then maybe, just maybe the places would be better at the cleaning. i dont eat in resturants, i dont stay in hotels. if i go somewhere i stay at friends if i dont have any there, and have no choice to stay. i bring my own pillows, i sleep on my own blankets. i dont use anything in the room like coffee makers and glasses. i bring in my own. if i eat out somewhere and its not up to what i think it should be, i dont go there. if the parking lot is nasty, the rest of the place is.
