Kenny Rogers on Plastic Surgery, Past Marriages and Drugs
Country music star Kenny Rogers appeared on "Anderson Live" and spoke candidly about his career, past marriages, and even answered a question on Twitter about how many plastic surgeries he's undergone, and whether he would go under the knife again.
Rogers, 74, joked, "I've never had plastic surgery in my life!"
The singer explained, "It was a lot of money and a lot of time, and I thought,l what the hell, I'll go do something, you know?" Kenny also revealed he and fellow country legend Dolly Parton "used to laugh about it. It was all for the sake of what I thought was looking better." He added that he is happy with the way he looks.
Kenny, who has a new memoir, "Luck or Something Like It," discusses his four previous marriages, and says he blames himself for the breakups. "I think it's a man's responsibility to protect that relationship and I didn't do that."
The superstar shared his thoughts on recent headlines made by starlet Lindsay Lohan, and blamed the tabloids for sensationalizing and capitalizing on her situation. "I think you are responsible for your own life. I never drank, never smoked. Didn't do a lot of drugs, I did some." Kenny revealed, "I smoked pot one night and I decided to talk on stage."

He has such a great attitude about life! I enjoyed his comments about cosmetic surgery too. Very humorous and a healthy view on life! Good interview, thanks!

Kenny Rogers needs a Nursing Home....he "never" had plastic surgery; who in the hell does he think he is kidding....he ruined his face because he tried to look young for his new coochie coo way when when. He WAS a handsome man, now, he looks like a freak. Men make me sick when they pick up with younger women and think they have to completely redo themselves....and, take Viagra, have plastic surgery, and act like morons.
Kenny....please go knock on a Nursing Home door....you need to, quickly.
In the 80's Kenny Rogers visited the Ford plant where I worked. He had bought a fleet of trucks to haul his equipment in and toured the plant. He was one of the rudest people I have ever seen in my life. At no time did he shake hands or acknowledge any of the people coming up to him. It was as if he was way too good to talk to common folk.
Seems as those who ave a tell all tell all book are near dead so that once they are gone no one can question them and expect an answer...In his youth he could hold them, in his middle age he could fold them but now he's one foot in the grave..He's gonna show them.
who cares if he had plastic surgery, its nobody's business but his own. I personally, think he looks okay, not the way I remember, but okay. I love him, and his music will live forever. Thanks, Anderson, for having him on!
I am very impresed by the way you are looks Rogger. I started listening to your golden voice music on the 80"s till date when I was a small girl lived in the village of hot weather of Southern Africa. you are still looks young and really gently man.
Kenny Rogers has always been my all time favorite singer, from the beginning. I think he should never have had plastic surgery, he was beautiful before.
Kenny might not have done a lot of drugs, but if you like his music, you certainly must be using.
i think kenny rogers is great i have all of his cd and even the tapes he has a rare and beautifull voice and his wife and twin boys are beautifull its great to be a parent at any age.i dont get hung up on people getting married to people younger or older than them love is what counts the most my husband is older than me and weve been married for 39 years now so love is what counts love you kenny kept up the good work.
Robert sorry you and your wife had such bad experience with Kenny Rogers. Sometimes people forget that they are just like any other mortal and forget their manners. Hopefully over the years he has changed and that behavior to others will not repeat. Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife.
Give me Kenny Rogers any day with or without surgery. His voice has delighted me for a long time and will still be my man of songs. Thanks for being honest, Sir Kenny. I will read the book. Sing onward and upward!!!
Kenny Rogers is not a nice man, He is a selfish Fony who believes that he is Mr wonderful and no one else Counts, My nephew wrote songs for him early in his career.I was tasked to welcome him to the Rosemont Horizon Thearture in Chicago. He was very Rude to me and my deceased wife and an old lady who asked him for his signature for her picture. You Can tell him for me I would not walk across the street to see him eat a bale of Hay. Ps. He has a Face of a Mule.
Kenny Rogers has out lived so many old school and new school celebs and even look way better than a lot of other celebs who has had plastic surgery. I miss those good old days when country music was on everyone's radio station no matter what race or age, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton shared their music with everyone and everyone love them and their music. Now, music is so divided between age and race so now, you feel music it's not real music anymore you just do not feel the thrill to go out to buy music.
kenny is a superstar.I love his songs anyday, anywhere, everyday. He is a great singer.
I would like to say that I am very upset that this show is NOT airing in the St Louis area. Why not? I want to watch dangit.
