On Wednesday's show, Anderson uncovered various services and items that were priced differently for men and women. A dry cleaner and hair salon charged more for women than for men.

With hidden cameras, a husband and wife both went to the same dry cleaner and hair salon -- and when checking their receipts afterward, they were surprised to learn that the wife had paid significantly more than her husband. According to AOL Daily Finance, women pay approximately $850K more in their lifetime, just for being female.

"Anderson Live" will continue to investigate unfair gender pricing in part 2 of our investigation on Monday's show, with more hidden cameras... be sure to tune in!

At the Dry Cleaners they compared a pair of pants to a tailored blouse. At any cleaners these require two completely different processes. Generic pants and button down shirts (square cut, cotton, wool, poly blend, no lining, no contours) can be mass cleaned and machine pressed because they are all the same. Tailored, fine fabric and contoured clothing, which are very popular for both women and men, must be cleaned more delicately and hand finished. Thus, the price difference.

Anderson, you need to send the exact same garment and the same quantity into the store to make sure your investigation is legit.

This has been going on for years. I am a single disabled woman and I recently had some repairs done on my home. The lying thief of a handyman first quoted me a bid of $500 for a tile job. When it was done, he said it would be $900, because it "took longer." I paid him without dispute, as I had been intimidated by his very rude, strange demeanor and just wanted to be rid of the creep. Of course I will never hire him again nor recommend anyone else do so, but it's just a fact of life, unfortunately.
I have also always wondered why women have to pay tax on sanitary products. From my understanding taxes are meant for "non-essentials or luxury items." Exactly how are sanitary napkins/tampons a *LUXURY* to women of child-bearing age? I would absolutely LOVE an answer to that question, especially from our female senators.

Hello Anderson, This is a problem that it's been hard for me to understand being a woman, we bought our home 1999 and lees than a year after that my husband move out and I have been taking care of the house because I had six kids and five were still at home and one in college. every problem I encounter I felt i was paying more than what the repair cost if I was a man. I could tell from my gut that I'm being cheated and couldn't do anything, car repairs was worse how can this change? Please help

I ALWAYS try to buy whatever I need in the men's department. Example: Deoderant, toothpaste, shampoo, mens socks, tennis shoes, jeans if they fit right, casual & T-shirts, sweatshirt, boots. Army surplus is a great place to shop. Men's clothing are ALWAYS made superior to women's. I am 60 years young and figured this out as a teen, when the girlie clothes had to be resewed as soon as you bought them.

I now buy men's hair spray because it $1.+ cheaper, I also buy disposable razors but not pink because they are more expensive. I have been doing this for a couple of years now. I don't feel less feminine just saving money. Men's plain T-shirts are much cheaper so I buy them sometimes even the polo type shirt because if its sold in the women's depart. it cost more.

What about when a man buys a suit for instance, and gets FREE alterations........... A woman pays thru the nose for each and every stitch. Ask Nordstroms...............

i did not enjoy this show! I really believe that woman should pay more than men if the service they are getting is harder and more time consuming to perform. Example: i know that most womans blouses do not fit on the newer drycleaning press machines and therefore require more work since they have to be hand finished. Woman tend to be more picky about their hair and thus make it a harder job for the hair stylist. This show was very biased and was not up to par with your other shows. I did not like that it was one sided!!!
