Web Exclusive: PJ Explains How You Can Eat 'Clean'

Monday, August 27, 2012 5:00AM

Personal trainer PJ tells Anderson and co-host Carrie Ann Inaba that "if you're struggling with weight, you have to make it a lifestyle choice. There's no quick fix, there's no dieting. Those things are short-term fixes that end up resulting in weight gain."

PJ, who made headlines after gaining and losing 90 pounds, says in order to eat in a "clean" way, suggests, "It's really important to equip yourself with a lot of knowledge on food… getting into the habit of reading labels… understanding what the labels mean.

"A lot of things like low fat, low sugar, all these things are gimmicks and tricks to fool us into thinking something is healthy for us, but in fact there are a lot of hidden calories."

I watched Anderson on May 28, 2012. On it his guest was Paul James, and Paul's book is Take it Off Keep it Off. Anderson commented that we could get a chance to win this book on his internet site. I could not find this, I found Carrie Ann's make up and a chance to win. I still would like to have a chance to win Paul James' book: Take it Off, Keep it Off. Thank you in advance for your help. Sondra Hefte P.S. As usual I enjoy Anderson's t.v. show, I use to watch him years ago when he hosted a morning news show, I believe it was on ABC, and I knew he was special then also.

It was refreshing to finally hear someone talking about weight loss who actually experienced some of the difficulties people who have life-long weight issues face. However, I wish someone would address some of the unique problems that people who are older and who have multiple chronic illnesses like lupus and fibromyalgia face when trying to lose weight. When you are experiencing chronic fatigue and chronic joint and muscle pain, it is very difficult to exercise or cook healthy meals for yourself. It is especially difficult if you don't have a family or a support system or can afford to hire someone that can assist you in doing chores or cooking healthy meals.

Let's all practice, one, two, three.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

A novel idea but try it.
