America's Tallest Man Shares His Story
America's tallest man, Igor Vovkovinskiy, appears on "Anderson" to talk about what life is like for him, at 7'8".
Igor, 29, says that beyond the obvious challenges he faces on a daily basis (such as not hitting his head everywhere he goes), the cost of creating a pair of custom-made shoes can run as high as $16,000. Igor's size 26 shoe cannot be found in any store. He explains, "Each foot has to be individually scanned and a cast has to be made. Both my feet are so drastically different now after all the surgeries. They are not just opposites of each other, and so that is where the bulk of the cost is."
Igor has endured 15 foot surgeries in the last five years, and because his giant shoes are so expensive, he wears the same pair for a few years.
Igor says the pain in his feet have prevented him from going out with friends and having a normal life. Igor took matters into his own hands and decided to create a website, IgorNeedsShoes.com, to raise money for another pair. So far, he's raised over $40K.
"Anderson" decides to help Igor, and thanks to generous master tailor Mohan Ramchandani, who has created custom suits for 7'7" Manute Bol, he gives Igor $10,000 worth of custom-made clothing. Mohan, who owns Mohan's Tailors, says, "I'll make him suits, jackets, pants, whatever he likes."
Podiatrist Dr. Saul Goldston of San Diego, CA also offered his expertise in creating shoes for Igor, telling him, "We would like to present you with a pair of dress shoes and custom-made athletic shoes."

I jus*****ched the segment about Igor. I am so touched by the generousity of the shoemaker, suit maker and mattress donations. I sat here with happy tears streaming down my face. It is so awesome to see the love and care still out there in this tough and wacky world we live in.
