Daytime Exclusive: Woman Marries Herself in Ceremony
Nadine, 36, joins Anderson to explain why she married herself after getting a divorce. Nadine had a ceremony to celebrate the event and invited 40 guests. She even received wedding gifts.
Her unusual event made headlines, but Nadine says she wasn't in it for the publicity. She says she decided to go through with the self-marriage because "it was about really committing to changing my life. I feel very empowered, very happy, very joyous. I want to share that with people, and also the people that were in attendance, it's a form of accountability."
Nadine experienced a painful divorce and says it was rough after learning her two kids wanted to live with their father. "Six years ago I would've handled a problem by going out and drinking. I smoked, I was 50 pounds overweight… this is just celebrating how far I've come in my life."
Since the split, Nadine enjoys spending time with herself, going out on date nights, buying treats and gifts for herself, and says she's no longer waiting for "someone to complete her."
What do you think? Is it too much?

The show should call her X Husband and get his side of the store!!!! He lives in South Dakota.
And the flakes begin to come out of the closet
And the Wedding Song was 'I love me, I love me, I'm crazy about myself..' by Hains and Mahoney, sung either by Tiny Tim or Mel Blanc....
LMAO the last time I knew you had 3 kids! What happen to the 3rd one???? I know your X Husband and you are the one who took him to the CLEANER!!!! He was wonderful to you and the 3 kids I hope they are paying you well for this!!The only one who walked away from this marrage broken was him!! WOW I really hope you find what ever you are looking for!!! I feel so bad for the kids I really hope you never get to see them again!!. Lets hope you X Husband keeps up the great job that he always has been DOING!!!. Go get some help you NEED IT !! God please help her!!!
Man...So many questions! What happens if she meets someone else? Does she have to get a divorce? If so, how does she split up assets, who do the kids live with, who gets the dog? If she does experience issues in her new marriage...I guess she could always go to a marriage counselor. Well, good luck in your marriage. And remember, the key to a happy marriage is to NOT go to bed angry at your partner....work things out. I mean who like to sleep on the couch!!!
I stand up and applaud this women! When we are in bondage to hurts, bad habits, addictions etc AND with no self esteem and unable to love ourselves WE NEED CHEERLEADERS. If no one is able to speak your needed love language; DO IT YOURSELF.Declare your victories, learn to love yourself with special things as Nadine has done. Learning to become the person you want to be and not needing another to make you happy is true freedom. I am sure Nadine will begin to glow with h
appiness and someone very special will walk into her life and they will share joy and love everyday on earth. GO NADINE AND GOOD FOR YOU FOR ANNOUNCING YOUR NEW LIFE TO THE WORLD.
she's a true individualist, the marriage is just symbolic. she knows that marriage to a man amounts to nothing more than slavery for women, in most marriages I've seen at least.
Being single is not for everyone. But for some of us free spirited creatures, its the best damn decision.
I think it's great - why shouldn't she celebrate her newfound single life? Anytime you celebrate life it's a positive thing - you go girl!
Also, it's not just a coincidence the negative comments below have all come from males... what's the matter? Afraid more women will take a stand and not put up with your sh*t anymore? That's just too bad.
If more women in this world had the self-respecting, self-loving attitude that Nadine has, there could very well be more successful marriages. Nadine's attitude is NOT "the poster child for what's wrong in our culture when it come to marriage"...that sure is an ignorant blanket statement. If more women were comfortable just being happy with themselves, they wouldn't "settle" for someone that may be disrespectful to them, just for the sake of having a person in their life because they might be afraid to be alone. I applaud Nadine's commitment to herself and find her attitude refreshing.
Why did her children not wNt to be with her. You would think maybe one might want to be with their Mother????????
I have the impression she married herself as more of a defensive mechanism to block out her bad experience from her previous marriage and to boost her self-confidence constantly. Her activities are not that far off from what a single person would do, but mentally she sees herself as two.
Hahahaha! Omg...wow! What weird physcos Nadine and the other women who married 'em selves on your show are, Anderson, lol!
Like come, man, what person marrys their self? A loser, that's
who, lmao!
i just want to say that the women that 'married' herself.. hooray for her... she was doing it for herself and helping herself cope with things. the 'director of marriage project' where is he coming from? he was ridiculous. This woman was just affirming her life, her existance without having to have a man in it... i think it is great..
