Anderson to 'Human Barbie': 'You're Dreadful'

Friday, August 10, 2012 2:09PM

It was the first time this season Anderson cut an interview short...

Sarah Burge, who reportedly spent over $500,000 on plastic surgery and calls herself the "Human Barbie," gave her now 8-year-old daughter "plastic surgery vouchers" on her 7th birthday, and encouraged her teenaged daughter to get Botox.

After asking Sarah about why she'd encourage her daughter to get plastic surgery and why photos of her daughter on a stripper pole were released to the press, Anderson felt she was only seeking publicity, and said, "I honestly have nothing more to talk to you about."

He added, "I try to be really polite to all my guests. I think you're dreadful and I honestly don't want to talk to you anymore."

Take a look at what Anderson had to say backstage after abruptly ending his interview with Sarah.

Oh Anderson, this is the first time I saw your show. How embarrassing this must have been for you. "Barbie" was very professional, and seemed to have pretty reasonable answers to your questions...well as much of them as you would let them answer. You tried to justify throwing her off the show and she did leave politely. So what if she's looking for publicity for her daughters? With their career choices that would be beneficial. What's really funny is the next person who was up after her... a guy who has a relationship with a doll.....hahahahahahaha I'm pretty sure we've all seen that on strange addictions or something 2 years ago. Why wouldn't you just let her tell her side of the story and try to look at it from both sides, instead of bashing and bullying her? Then you made fun of your next guest as well. You would think someone in your situation would be more understand. Maybe you don't get enough understanding and that's why you treat people who are different the way you are probably treated.

Why on earth would you invite a guest on your show, knowing who she is and what she stands for, only to humiliate and degrade her in public. I am shocked!

I have been meaning to express my anger re: that Sarah Burge, I was so "RELIEVED" when Anderson kicked her ass out of the show. I was about to change the channel when he shut her up. GOOD FOR ANDERSON!!! He is my Oprah now a days. I live in retirement village and I only get the main network. I refuse to pay extra on channels that are useless anyway. I look forward to september 10. I love Anderson Cooper!!!

Firstly, You have a great show Anderson, and to-days show, well, what can I say. That woman (or should I say), the far out one making a complete ass of herself on national TV trying to make her 7 year old daughter into a much less adult by buying her a plastic surgery gift certificate much less a pole to swing on. There is enough garbage going on in the world, and SHE and many others are promoting it by their stupid idiotic brain. I don;t believe in the Tiera and whatever program AT ALL, and would like to take these women and punch their lights out! I would have thought that they would remember that little girl a few years ago that was kidnapped and murdered. Sorry I forget her name, but, her Mother and Father were accused. Non the less, these mothers (and fathers), should be stepping up to the plate and allow these children to have a childhood instead of promoting all the "GLITTER" for their kids, so that THEY get what they want out of it and to HELL with everyone else. I feel so sorry for these children. As far as how you handled her, "BRAVO", I could not have done it any better, in fact, I would have got rid of her sooner. You rock Anderson. Keep up the good work. Marj.

I am a 69 yr old Canadian , i watched this show and i thought you were very ignorent to this lady . first of all who are you to tell her how to raise her child , if you don,t like what she is doing report her to childrens aid. Now that i know you are GAY , i can understand why you were so rude and insulting to her , first of all being gay yourself you will never likley have the chance to raise your own offspring , and you,ll probably never see a woman,s brasts since you like men . since you have come ouit , i notice a byas to your show now that i didn,t befor . you followed this interview with a man aho makes love to a doll, ARE YOU TRYING TO INTRODUCE SEX TOYS TO YOUR VIEWING PUBLIC , KINDA WITHOUT CALLING IT GAY .

I would just like to comment on how impressed i was to see Anderson send that "dreadful" woman off his stage and show. I feel so sorry that her children will most likely never love themselves for who they really are. I honestly believe she had them for the very purpose of creating barbie dolls of her own. The most horrible woman I have ever seen on tv.

My FIRST time watching the show, and NEVER will again. I'm actually on Barbie's side, she knew exactly what she was talking about and held up professionally, despite Mr. Anderson's unprofessional personal treatment. Mr. Anderson, you need to understand that every woman has something that she wants to change about herself, it may not always be a physical aspect, but we desire to be beautiful. She is not CAUSING this, the MEDIA causes this. She works in a profession that helps people become their physically desired self, she's not forcing anyone to do this. I don't like the close-minded attitude you have. You act like the world isn't changing and modernizing more quickly than EVER. Higher standards are set, and things that were once outside of the norm are no longer taboo. Being someone of the media, you really need to keep up with that knowledge. Before you whined about the vouchers needing to be used on education, she made it VERY clear that the vouchers could be cashed in on whatever her daughter wants, "a car", a house, and yes, EDUCATION falls in that category of "what ever she wants." She also said her daughter could make those decisions when she's 18. I know that I would have been grateful for those vouchers when I was 18. I could still use them today, and I wouldn't be sure for which problem...desired beauty, or financial need. Well I'm going back to "The Doctors," I really didn't see you as a professional today. You reminded me more of someone you have to argue opinions with, instead of agreeing to disagree. With that attitude, you won't be a host for much longer. Nobody likes a person who can't change with the times.

Hurrah! Treating a guest as a "guest", not an entitled prig was brilliant and long-awaited.

It doesn't matter if I agree with human Barbie or she with me; what matters is her authenticity...which was totally lacking. Mr.Cooper was kind to call her disingenuous rather than polemic liar.

Love him; love his show.

Anderson, I am very disappointed with the way you treated Sarah, the lady who wants to look like Barbie. I know that you read a biography about her before inviting her on your show. You knew exactly what you were dealing with before she came on. So, you had her on just to sandbag her? What a manly thing to do. NOT! I was a big fan of yours until I saw this episode. No offense to you or Ms. Vanderbilt, but I know that you had a very unusual upbringing and have made no bones about the fact that you were not thrilled with your own Mom's lifestyle while you were growing up. So, don't judge! The woman gets vouchers from her employer which her daughter can use after age 18. Sarah isn't putting money aside for her daughter to have plastic surgery, and so what if she was? Ms. Vanderbilt doesn't look 87, thanks to her plastic surgeons. I hope that you offer this lady an apology. It's the right thing to do.
