Anyone can be a victim of identity theft. Perhaps the best identity theft protection plan available today is LegalShield's Identity Theft Shield. Their plan provides the following coverage for you and your spouse for only $12.95 per month ($15.95 for all three credit reporting agencies):
1. Your up-to-date credit report based on data from Experian.
2. Your personal credit score and analysis.
3. Continuous monitoring and alerts if anything changes.
4. Identity Theft Consultation and Restoration Services.
That last item is a huge benefit. They actually assign a licensed investigator to consult with you and, with your permission, they will work on your behalf to correct identity theft issues and restore your credit. Saving you time, money and stress from trying to do it yourself.

My daughter has been going through identify theft since she was 16 and is now 27. She found out when she was trying to buy something. She did a credit report and found out it's her ex-stepmother. We know where she lives inwhich, is out of state. She's tried filling reports to her county and they ask questions she can't answer like when and where they filled for credit in her name. There where more questions but, she'd have to tell you. If you know someone who can help her please let me now. She has also contacted attorneys and no one can help her. We live in Dallas Texas. Her ex-stepmother,who is doing theft, lives in Antioch Ill. or Wisconsin. The theft is on going. Thank you so much if you can help her!! Cheryl
I always enjoy your show and especially this last one on Tuesday, 5/16 as I learned a lot. I also keep checking my check book amounts and also my savings amounts once a week. I am very worried about them taking everything I have.
Thanks again Anderson for your wonderful show

Many years ago, when we first got internet, I had my e-mail taken by someone and turned into a porn site. What was even worse, was that I was a conference officer in my church women's group. We had a very difficult time changing all my stuff around since my old address had gone out nationwide. But I can laugh about it, now, sort of...
Hi Anderson,
My dauhter had her ID stolen, and someone used her ss# to file taxes in Oregon. We have never lived in Oregon. I believe that it was when we took her to get her driver's permit at the DMV where I live. The clerk kept her birth certificate, and pretended that I gave her a copy. I reported it to the main DMV, and it turns out that the one that I went to at first are always sending people there. The clerk also did not scan her certificate, she typed it in. They are still keeping a watch on that perticular location. Now my daughter has to go through loops every year when it is time for her to file her taxes.
This guy sounds gungho, a bit like he's trying to sell something, although the information he's saying is important and true. bing bang boom done
Americans.. always trying to make money out of everything.. They would never tell you the truth about how your information get stolen. No one can steal your information without you playing a major role in it. Now they are trying to sell the security sleeve to you, making you believe it will help prevent unauthorized use, that a BIG LIE. The best way to stop been a victim is USE CASH.. that way nobody can, steal, touch your money. Even your money in the BANK aiint save. If you're using a card be it debit or credit you are 75% at risk of been a victim.
I missed the show you had with the mother of a child whose identity was stolen. Can you run that section on Facebook?
I don't have much money, so when I lost the little I had, no one would believe me.... So I closed my bank accounts and use cash only now, and there were bogus charges on my smartphone account, and I just close it too because like I said, years ago it was done to people, and no one could believe it could really happen.... I am one of the, way too many victims, out there, so thanks for educating them into reality. To my smartphone contractor I am now the crook. AND IT IS CALLED INVERSION when victims are called criminals.. IE Good is bad and bad is good.I t happened to me so really beware cause it my happen to you.
I can say I've been harassed by debt collectors and finally filed for bankruptcy on cc debt that was 12 years old. The banks wrote off the accounts after I tried for years to work with them. They were subsequently purchased by attorneys that charge rates in excess of 28%. I lost an income source to the bankruptcy and had to pay the trustee $5000.00 for her expertise. My debt was $20,000.00 and I paid over $38,000.00 and the bankruptcy has destroyed my credit. We cannot refinance our house to a lower interest rate.
The whole process trashed my health and my life in many respects.
For one year of charges in 1995, 1997 cards were returned and cancelled and attempts to work with creditors, Consummer Credit Counseling, legal aid, bankruptcy attorneys, judges and trustee, I've lost and others have financially benefited. Lesson learned a stellar credit can be destroyed and life can change at the mercy of others. I'll never use a credit card again!
I used to work for a state tax agency. I would often find a social security number that employers had reported wages on....for over 100 or 150 different people. Most likely these were people who entered the country illegally and worked in construction and landscaping jobs. They would share several SS numbers. What other scams were they pulling?
I have recently had a text on my phone saying that I had won a $1,000 Wal-Mart Gift card. All I had to do was log onto a site where I found out a lot of people had been a victim to the same scam.
A couple of years ago I was the victim of a vulture in South Africa on a dating site for seniors. I put something on facebook about this guy & he calle me back to say I was interfering with him making a living.
