Anyone can be a victim of identity theft. Perhaps the best identity theft protection plan available today is LegalShield's Identity Theft Shield. Their plan provides the following coverage for you and your spouse for only $12.95 per month ($15.95 for all three credit reporting agencies):
1. Your up-to-date credit report based on data from Experian.
2. Your personal credit score and analysis.
3. Continuous monitoring and alerts if anything changes.
4. Identity Theft Consultation and Restoration Services.
That last item is a huge benefit. They actually assign a licensed investigator to consult with you and, with your permission, they will work on your behalf to correct identity theft issues and restore your credit. Saving you time, money and stress from trying to do it yourself.

I was watching your show about on-going scam's and I was wondering if you have heard about this one:
My mom was scammed out of Thousands of dollars, by someone who apparently "intercepted information" from a cell phone call between her (in Calif) and her grandson (in Virginia).,
They called and said "Hi Grandma, this is Shiloh and I got arrested in Mexico and I need you to wire money to an attorney" then the reception got "really bad" while she was asking questions. The answers she got, contained information only obtained thru their telephone conversations.
She then received a call from "His so-called attorney" who told her where to Western Union the money, etc etc.
To make a long story short, she called her grandson, who did not answer his phone, so she assumed he WAS arrested, and..... well, she lost thousands before figuring out it was a scam.
Is this something you have heard of?
Love your show and would appreciate any info you can provide.
My credit card was declined for a $19.00 purchase 2 weeks ago which i knew was impossible. After paying cash and leaving the strore my credit card company called asking me to confirm some charges. All were mine except for 2 that were done within a few hours of my card being declined. There were 2 $1.00 charges which were clearly not mine and the CC company told me that the card had been compromised and that charging $1.00 was a common red flag for them. My card was cancelled and a new one issued and I was impressed how quickly and astutely the company caught it.
Today literally just after the show I got a call from a US online bicycle company ( I am in Canada ) asking me if I had purchased a bike from them. I assured them I didn't and told them that my CC had been compromised 2 weeks ago and cancelled they of course could not put the sale through and it was the fraud dept of this company calling me. They did however have my full name, tel number and address and said it was requested to be sent to another address than mine. All's well that ends well but it sure creeped me out!
This show was an absolute eye opener. I am a vicitm of identity theft when someone stole my identity and filed my tax return. I just want to point out that you never made mention of the lottery scam that is going on. That is escalting and people are being scammed millions of dollars.
I would like the story on! Allen J and his website
More of a question than a comment. Could a female line her purse with aluminum foil to keep identity safe in it? Wrapping individual cards was suggested on the show.
