Vanessa Williams on 'Go Go Juice' and Kids in Pageants

Actress/singer Vanessa Williams discussed children who compete in beauty competitions and their parents, saying, "When the child is screaming and saying, 'I don't want to do this,' when they're using special juice to get them hyped… that's not my world, and I would never have my kids do that."

My comments come in a little late, but nonetheless, I have this to say. I think beauty pageants should be canceled all together. I've attended some and usually, mums relive their "beauty days" through their children which is not right. It also puts this pressure on kids on the need to be beautiful, so that everyone can approve of them- because that's what beauty pageants do: have judges approve whether one is beautiful or not! The world we live in is tough enough. I know my kids are certainly never going through this.
