I used to read for a blind student when I was 17. When he graduated he left for Japan. 30 years later I got a telephone call from Shig, my student. He got my number from my Dad. My Dad recognized him at a garage sale he and my Mom were having at their house!
Shig come to find out lives about five blocks from my parents. After he graduated from from college he went to Goshen and then to Japan and then ended up back here in my town of Kalamazoo and in my parents garage.
How is that for fate?
Yours sincerely, Wen-d Romano
Anderson mentioned to Debra Messing that you have to put yourself in different situations to allow for luck/faith. But, putting yourself out there is faith in and of itself. If you dont do that then you dont make it to the final piece. It is really a what comes first. I do believe in the power of thoughts. If I had to take a college course (many years ago) that I was not sure I would do well in or maybe not like, I would continually say how much I loved the class and how good I was at it. Those are the classes that ended up being the ones with the best grades.
I have always trusted my gut and it has never steered me wrong. As a solo traveler, I did things that I would never tell anyone else to do, but listening to my sixth sense, I had abundant adventures and made many new friends.
I also live in the here and now, which makes me aware that every day can have an exciting moment, minute or day. I think it's because I believe that something wonderful will happen.
Thanks Lynn for reminding how lucky I am.
I just sent in a lengthy comment on trusting your gut. When I tried to submit, I was told it was invalid. So, I signed in again, but still no confirmation.
Great video Lynn. A great reminder to be in the moment and aware of the blessings. Hope to see you soon!
I loved the Trust Your Gut with Lynn Robinson! I hope to see more!
Lynn I have been following you for years and reading all your books. I think you are an amazing person. I love that you are so real. And I love that you let people see just how real you are. Please, keep up keeping up and don't let the Darrell's out there even be a blip on your radar screen.
I hope to hear more from this lady. She inspired me todat to get out and meet people around me. It was a wonderful feeling even though I was out of my comfort zone. Please haye her on your show again.
I've been following Lynn for only a short time but it didn't take long to become a fan. Her words are inspirational and, she's right, by trusting my gut and listening to my inner voice I have reached my goals!
Darryl, your arms must be tired from passing so much judgement or just pushing against the idea of that what your heart desires will come to you when you are open to it, when you clear the noise out (negative, doubtful, resistant thoughts...like those below)
I hope that you are willing to consider it...because you deserve to experience good things, what ever that is for you (Lotto is not a priority for me)
The "prove it" stance makes it clear that you are arguing for your limitations...I have nothing to prove,I "know, trust my gut" which is the point.
It is not about proving, which is resistance, it is about allowing...you will catch on.
Darrell, I don't play the lottery because I have a 'gut' feeling I won't win. I have a 'gut' feeling you are a loser because you have a bad attitude.
Darrell, Why do you equate luck solely with winning money?
OMG, you women are really from Venus it seems. Well, at least some other planet.
1. @Lauren. You say that how we can make out own luck by thinking positively and "taking chances that could" turn into great opportunities, correct? Isn't that the same as playing the lotto?
2. @Karen. It is all about attitude, being aware of your surroundings, and going with that 'gut' feeling. How many times do we say to ourselves, 'Oh, I wish I would've done that. Then why don't you play the lottery...gut feeling wrong, perhaps?
3. @Leslie. Per you, "AND I also frequently think or comment aloud that I am a lucky person. I don't think this is a coincidence"...if luck is real, the why don't you play the lotto?
4. @Mari. Were you feeling you were born with a silver spoon buried far up your backside?
5. @Lexlie. Wow. You won $200.00 in a contest in all your years of decrepit living, and you consider yourself lucky?
6. @Lisa. Are you actually for real? Concentrate, and stay with the plan....
7. @Katie. You can turn your life around by hoping, wishing and day dreaming of being lucky? What little things prove that you're lucky? Find a penny on the ground? Get a free coupon at the store? Don't get killed during rush hour traffic? Walking under a ladder?
Show me a physical sign that luck is real. Show me facts, statistics, truths? Don't give me gut feelings or aspirations or stupid statements that you're all carrying a rabbit's foot in your pockets that affect your lives on a daily basis. Have the dizzy blonde prove that people have a mystical aura called luck, and I'll retract everything. Until then, good luck...oh wait, that's probably wrong of me to say as there is no such thing as "luck".....
Dear Darrell - if you knew Lynn personally you would think much differently, she has the purest truest heart and her advise has help me achieve dreams beyond my imagination. Lucky is as lucky does ... wishing you luck!
I am the luckiest person in the world to have Lynn Robinson in my life she has taught me so much over the years and helped me fulfill so many of my life's goals, wishes and dreams. I am a firm believer in creating a lucky life by feeling lucky and grateful everyday. How many people do you know that keep on saying if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all - and guess what you are what you believe you are. I am so lucky in every aspect of my life!
