Couple Discover Gems Worth... How Much?!

"Rockhounders" Terry and John appeared on "Anderson" to discuss their lucky discovery of some emeralds after going on a rock-digging excursion in North Carolina.
Antoinette Matlins, gemologist and author of "Colored Gemstones," appraised the stones, but first gave some insight on how gemstones are evaluated. She gave Anderson the stone and a microscope to look through, and asked him, "Do you see how deep and far that green goes? Inside this rock is a huge, large crystal..."

Loved your show todaay, as always. Would like to find out more about rockhounding and clubs to join regarding rock hounding.
I was very happy to hear about the couple's emerald find. I have heard that there are emeralds, rubies, and diamonds in the Northern and Southern Carolina. I would like to go rock hounding in Texas but I do not know where to start. Any suggestions? I am considering to move to North eastern Colorado, Montana, or even Wyoming to go exploring for gemstones myself. Do you recommend anyone to guide me up there?

Hi Anderson !!! I saw the couple you had on your show Terry and John, the "Rockhounders" who had found the Emeralds in the North Carolina area. My husband and I also have a rock with multiple crystal emeralds embedded in the stone from North Carolina and would love to have it appraised by a Gemologists in the Crossville TN area.
