"The Notebook" author and "Anderson" guest Nicolas Sparks shares his best book recommendations for summer, including a thriller by William Landy, "Defending Jacob."
Anderson said he would be interested in reading "Defending Jacob," and added that he had just finished reading "The Hunger Games," and said, "I just read all three books, which I was very proud of, until I started downloading them and realized they were from the young adult section."

I am still haunted by the program that exposed the Government practice of sterilizing citizens....which was unknown by them. A similar scenerio is from the book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lack. The taking of human cells from Henrietta without permission and using them for research....the family today is still trying to understand and the cells are still feared by laboratories for their virulent growth....a part of Henrietta is still living and the family is reported to still not have medical coverage.
I was so glad to see Nicholas Sparks on your show Anderson.I have every one of his books as far as I know. Some I have read twice. He has such a nice personality. I am 82 and I love to read and he is my favorite author. Thank You for your shows. I do enjoy you
I have seen the movie Notebook and the movie The lucky one but which other books by Nichalas Sparks are movies? I love his books
I really enjoyed your show today Anderson. I hope that couple gets some therapy and she realizes she needs to make some changes in herself as well as her husband. I also enjoyed seeing Nicholas Sparks on the show and love his books. I would love to get a copy of his recent book. I did not find the place to enter to win his autographed book. I love Nicholas Sparks books but I mast say my favorite is "Three Weeks With my Brother" It is a true story about a trip he takes with his brother and also about his sister. I started to read it and could not put it down. I do not cry easily but I poured tears when I read it. A must read.
I thought I heard Anderson say that we could go to his website to find out how we could obtain signed copies of Nicholas Sparks' books. Was I mistaken? I can't find anything about that.
I personally enjoy "Energy Made Simple" by Ben Peterson. It translates complicated technical lingo into a very easy to read language so that people can analyze their energy needs and evaluate all of the possible energy solutions out there.

I just love Nicholas Sparks, so happy you had him on your show today. His books are what I call "soft and easy" and could be any ones hometown story. Can't wait to read whatever book would be coming out next, isn't he just happy joyous person and a beautiful human being, plus he has a great family life it seems.
I was lucky enough to go to a book signing in Omaha many years again when he and his brother where here for a talk and signing.

Thank you for having Nicholas Sparks on today! He is such an inspiration to me. I, too, am at a point of change in my life. Both of my children will be leaving home next year (one for college at UNCW and one to complete high school at UNCSA). I feel like it's time for a big change and pursue some things I've been putting off. I'm also a writer and hope to begin a book or begin a blog. I would love to meet Mr. Sparks one day. Maybe I will since I'm a proud, fellow North Carolinian!
Love Anderson Cooper. Best talk show on TV. He had my cousin, Nickolas Sparks on the show this morning. Nick's mother was my first cousin, she was my age and we grew up together, so we were close till her tragic death. I always see Jill when I see Nick. thanks so much for having him. Made me cry.
