this show stopped me in my tracks, when Farnoosh said the "take away" from the family of four living in the 160... sq ft house was how much money they were saving ... huh ... i believe the takeaway was their astounding ability to live in a veritable shoebox and love it. Speaks so strongly to what a consumerist society we have become, and how ltl we actually need to feel content. Yes, they have a goal; living in a mortage free home, but even still they said it would be much smaller than the original home they lost. I believe that's the takeaway ... lighten your load and lighten your life.

WOW, I was really looking forward to your show, but circumstances meant that I missed it. Now after reading all of these comments I am glad. I know for a FACT you can get free gas and everything else as I AM THE COUPON QUEEN. Most years I save $45,000 a YEAR!!! And then make countless thousands selling the surplus. You get free gas by using coupons that pay overage and then getting gas cards. I have been doing this for 5 years and even got asked to be on ABC Nightly News for a coupon segment which then in turn became the predecessor for the TV series "Extreme Couponing".
We eat healthy, non-processed, lots of organic and don't use a lot of products with chemicals. IT CAN BE DONE. Not everyone who coupons has a house loaded up with soda and chips, although I do agree that MOST do. I found a way to live a better live by using coupons. We also only make $25,000 a year so we are actually in the "poverty" bracket.
As for the so-called financial expert, I am SO glad I missed that and that is really unfair to "normal" people to have some rich lady who is so disconnected with people making minimum wage, etc to be on a show about saving money. People need to wake up. Why is the 1% of rich people in this country running and talking non-stop to the rest of the 99%? When you are in the lower class of working Americans, you have NO idea what it is like to have to figure out how to best use your money or save your money. We know we are "poor" but we live good by having our priorities straight.

Love your show and watch it almost every day now that I am retired. You offer great tips and suggestions. However, as a side comment, I was disappointed to learn that your political party is Republican! As election season rolls around, please make sure you have representation from the President and Mrs. Obama, as well as other Democratic leaders.
Thanks for having most other topics be so informative and risk-taking!

I was so disappointed in Wed show. Why did you have the " coupon couple" from Virginia on if you were not going to let them talk? I wanted to hear how she was able to get groceries for free. Unfortunately, you allowed Farnoosh Torabi to take over the conversation as a way to sell her book and downplay what this Virginia couple was able to accomplish. FREE is FREE and I wanted to hear how they did it.Farnoosh try to put an hourly wage on something that is free. Hourly wages are taxed and the only true way to give yourself a raise is to lower your expenses. That is like comparing apples to oranges and there is no way to put an hourly wage on the benefit and pleasure of being able to stay at home with your children and get groceries for FREE. All the other participants were able to discuss in detail how they saved money. I felt like your show was disrespectful to the "coupon couple".

I liked the Extreme Moneysavers segment-I love the creative ways people found to save- and I agree with them- except for one thing. Farnoosh said that the coupon clippers efforts were not worth it- 5 hours a day for a $200 a week savings. I disagree. You need to look at the cost of working. If she had included the cost of child care, meals out, transportation, wardrobe? AND the potential impact of her income taking them into a new tax bracket, her hourly wage goes way up.If you add the tasks that a full time wife does that will need to be outsourced when she goes to work, then it goes up even more. I looked at my work this way-too late, unfortunately. I found that when I was a young mother the true impact to my family was that we were paying $7.50 a week in income tax. Because I didn't make a lot of money it was a net loss.

Thanks...Ann Bledsoe

Farnoosh Torabi is a moron. My GF and I run a party business so we are contatly looking for great deals on basic supplies. I was excited to hear her advise on the phone apps for couponing. I looked for over 45 min for those apps on my phone. Finally I searched for them on my laptop and come to find out they are Iphone apps! Really? Farnoosh Torabi, someone on a budget or out of work is really going to be couponing on their $500 Iphone? Taking financial advise from someone that out of touch with reality is pointless.
As for the couponing family? Keep doing what your doing. Don't listen to that ignorant twit, you can't put a price on taking care of your family. At least you are doing something productive with your time at home.

I am so glad they talked about the other side of extreme couponing - the time these people spend on it. They could actually have a real job instead of spending 35 hours a week on clipping coupons. In order to get something for free, you have to buy a whole lotta crap. Who has time for that, to manage all of it? Who needs all the soda and chips she had in her house? I'd rather buy good quality fresh food (for which there are never any coupons), cook it myself, refrain from junk and not let stuff take over my life. And for the cleaning supplies - I would never use all those chemicals in my home.

The financial expert ( Farnoosh Torabi's ) should be ashamed for knocking the coupon people in spending to much time on coupon cutting. I give anyone that tries their best to improve, an A + .. Sitting there with a good financial job knocking someone trying to their best is shameful... Just my opinion; before she knocks it she should walk in their shoes for awhile..sitting on a talk show pointing fingers is easy.

I am so disappointed that Farnoosh got all the talk time. I wanted to hear what extreme couponer Amanda had to say. Farnoosh obviously has no clue about saving money on gas by using Giant Eagles fuel perks program and couponing at their store to build up your gas savings. She is preaching to empty your trunk to save on gas. My local stores are not up to date with app saving coupons on phones.
That stockpile shown at Amanda's house is worth far more than $4 per hour of her time. Farnoosh calculated that all WRONG! I have NOT renewed my membership at Sam's Club this year because I can buy things so much cheaper using coupons at Giant Eagle and using Walmart's price match guarantee. Farnoosh's suggestion of "share the bulk" is completely stupid and unsafe meeting strangers at your bulk store to shop with. Her suggestions were not helpful at all to me!

I was looking forward to hearing from the "extreme couponer" yesterday on the show. I was disappointed that she barely got to talk at all. I am also a stay at home mom who coupons to get free/cheap items my family will use. I am always looking for new tips on ways to save. Farnoosh didn't offer anything useful, in my opinion. The apps she mentioned sound nice but not everyone has an iPhone. Maybe she should have offered apps that EVERYONE can get, not just iPhone users.

I am frustrated that Anderson allowed Farnoosh Torabi to devalue the couponing mom. She should never have said that the moms time is only worth $4 an hour, but Anderson should have called her out on the fact that she is a stay at home mom, raising a child is priceless. I would nevr endorse, buy, or share anything that Farnoosh Torabi sold, promoted, or said after hearing how she spoke to that mother.

Very very disappointed in your show on extreme couponing. WHY did you NOT let the lady WHO has actually done it speak more and SHUT up the lady in the green dress WHO THOUGHT she knew it all. First of all, this couple who coupons saved on taxes, were NOT paying a babysitter. Lady in Green dress was just plain mean when she said you only make 4.00 an hour. HOW about money saved on babysitting, taxes etc etc. VERY VERY POOR show.

I am saving money buy eating very simply. I have Generic raisin bran each morning (with watered down almond milk), and for as many meals as I can stand I cook dried beans add some corn and make (simple, more healthier and better tasting) or buy wraps and I put a wrap on a plate put 1/2 cup - 1 cup beans/corn mixture then spoon on a couple tablespoons of salsa and finish with thin slices of cheddar cheese (on sale). I microwave for 1 minute fold up and enjoy. I also drink 1 - 2 tall glasses of water and follow with a cup of tea. I eat other foods too but try to stick with this plan as much as possible.
