Renegade Mom: 'My Daughters Are Not Going to Be Reduced to Statistics'
Cally's two daughters were killed in a car accident after the recalled rental car they were issued by Enterprise caught fire. She is now championing legislation to protect consumers against unsafe rental cars.
"I was particularly offended that this company, that had rented a recalled car, that killed my daughters after denying it for five years of litigation and then admitting it, and then afterwards, there is still no accountability," says the renegade mom.
She continues, "My daughters are not going to be reduced to statistics, so I have engaged in advocacy in Washington and Sacramento and we're making progress, we're trying to win hearts and minds."
"There is no law against them renting a car under safety recall that has not been repaired."

Great show today, as always. However, during the portion about the PT Cruiser accident, the film you ran initially showed a Chevy HHR in the first two scenes. This car is frequently mistaken for a Cruiser but is NOT the same! I own an HHR & have rented PT Cruisers on several occasions.
It would be great if you mentioned in tomorrows broadcast that the car initially shown was not a PT Cruiser, but a Chevy HHR ~ which is a wonderful car with no problems! Bought mine new in 2006. It's great & would hate to think people are mistaking it for a defective vehicle.
Thank you!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE could you put the name of the sugar compound on your website and also the woman's name.
Thank you,
Janis
I saw on Anderson today 3-29-12 that a rented PT Cruiser had a recall on in concerning the stearing column. How can I find out if I own one that was to be recalled. I own a 2001 PT cruisier and I have a very loud noise and grinding sound in my stearing column on and off. This has alarmed me and I need to know if my car has a recall on it. Thanks for any help on this matter.
just a fyi. As you have always heard from older wiser people, there are always two sides to every coin. You along with other talk show hosts speak of addicts and the like. I've never heard the other side .. of people suffering with severe chronic pain and check the American Pain Foundation for one...there are a bunch of people with this affliction. Yet it's never discussed. The public needs to understand they have a story a well. Any good reporter tells the story...and this story is incomplete. You don't turn on the news and only get one opinion...you get facts, the whole side. Even when the unfortunate recent shooting in Fla. happened they did discuss both sides. In all cases, there is almost always more to say than just what is presented in cases such as addiction. We've heard it for months and months. It's important. But so is the reason for and need for better pain management. Recently Dr. Oz was recommending something natural for pain called California Poppy. But upon research I found you can only take it for 3 months therefore for chronic pain patients it's no good at all. Also there are other restrictions. Did he talk of that? No. Whatever the story I would find it refreshing to hear ALL of the story.
I did enjoy the story on RenegradeMoms. That is a subject with no others side. But if you report on controversial issues, please provide the audience with more information than just the same ol.
Another comment...when I turned on your show today I almost changed the channel before hearing about the moms helping children with cholestorol issues as recently I've seen alot of 'who's the dad'. Jerry Springer has kept this going for so long I can't understand how he still has an audience. If I had your show I would take it up a notch. Spend more time delving into both sides of issues. I would see that more information is printed on the screen such as the name of the sugar substance that is helping kids as was seen today on your show. We can't spell exo cyclodextrim. Provide websites and phone numbers on the show at the bottom.
Well thanks for listening.
