The Secrecy of 'Mad Men' Season 5

Friday, March 23, 2012 5:00AM

The fifth season of "Mad Men" premieres Sunday, March 25, and the team behind the AMC show is intent on keeping all details of the season's plot completely confidential.

"It's nice, I think, to be able to have a little bit of surprise," says Jon Hamm, one of the show's stars. "Who wants to know the end of the story?"

John Slattery says that some of the surprises of season five will be all the more effective if they come as a complete shock.

Totally loved the granite chilled cubes!! I don't drink much, but do enjoy sipping on scotch - always drink it "neat" (no ice). Have never had a martini either, although wouldn't mind trying the chocolate martini mixed up for Julianna Margulies. Have just started watching The Good Wife this season and am enjoying it quite a bit (but haven'*****ched any of the previous seasons).

Currently watching Mad Men from the beginning (only at season 1) - have to decide if I am going to watch only from the beginning, or finally get a few extra channels and watch the current season while catching up. Decisions!!

Always find it interesting to see how societal norms come into play with respect to what is and is not considered "acceptable" and "normal" behavior, how they differ culturally and geographically and by gender, and how their presence or absence has an influence on the behaviors of both individuals and society.
