Be Prepared: Emergency Checklist

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 6:00AM

On today's show, Anderson asked everyone: "How prepared are you? In the event of a disaster, would your family be able to survive?"

See tips from today's show!

The following information is provided by the American Red Cross:

It's important to prepare for possible disasters and other emergencies. Natural and human caused disasters can strike suddenly, at any time and any place. There are three actions everyone can take that can help make a difference...

1) Get a kit.

2) Make a plan.

3) Be informed.

I was very disappointed to see that the Anderson Cooper show gives a whole show to celebrities and only a partial show to something so important as disaster preparedness. Celebrities while entertaining and interesting can not potentially save lives like disaster preparedness can. To only give it a partial show was short sighted and very incompetent. I thought the Anderson Cooper was above pandering for ratings.

I was going to get to know if I'm prepared, but I guess not. I got sick and tired with the endless succession of "click here to know" and "click here to commence" and "click here to play", with never any information. Is this a State secret or something? Next time I want to get lost in a maze I'll call a government office.
