YouTube Sensation Tattooed by Ami James
Sarah, who has lived her life almost completely deaf, became a YouTube sensation when a video of her hearing for the first time went viral. When Ami James, star of TLC's "NY Ink" saw the video, he thought it would be great to tattoo Sarah at his shop.
Sarah talks to Anderson about her experience hearing for the first time, and about the "old-school pinup girl" tattoo she got on "NY Ink."
"I call it my woman anew tattoo," Sarah says. "For me it was just like a whole new start. Being able to hear and interact in society in a new way that I'd never had, just gives me confidence."
See Sarah's tattoos and learn more about her story in the video.
You can watch TLC's "NY Ink" on Thursdays at 9/8c.

people are different, some people love tattoos some don't, it doesn't change the person who you think they are as the person who commented on how she loved anderson cooper until she realized he had tattoos, it sad that people stereo type the way they do him having those tattoos doesn't change who he is or the good that he does.
HI Anderson
Is that your real tattoo on both arms? or just fake one? ;-)
thanks

Our daughter (Rachel Bouton) was part of your "Tattoo" show. Unfortunately her mother and I were unavailable to see the show. Is this show posted somewhere on the internet where we can view it? Thanks much.

Sands I give blood and plasma, ur uninformed comment was almost as bad as saying black people cant give blood, Im also an organ donor, well not yet im not dead yet, but as soon as I die il be an organ donor. Hepatitis C can be contracted during unprotected sex if someone uses a USED tattooing needles, used piercing needles or a multitude of drugs and different ways of using drugs. Also, sharing any type of hygiene product like a toothbrush or razor that might contain a small amount of blood could put you in danger of contracting hepatitis.. Just think the next time u goto the grocery store and grab a shopping cart the person before you that had Hep C could have had a cut on his/her hand and you have a cut on your hand, hmm imagine if that did happen, I wonder if someone would look at you and thank u have piercings, tattoos, or worse you maybe a drug user..Smart people goto clean shops for tats and piercings..
From Sherrie Malik, Anderson your tattoo's are a big 'let down' for me. I have thought of you as intelligent and classy. There is no value in tattoo's and are frankly disfiguring to the human body. from me, If I stand before you with Marine Blues on would you be proud? If I removed my coat and I have tattoo of my fallen brother on my right forearm would you still be proud or would I go from hero to human trash because of my tattoo?

I know tattoo,s are peoples rights to choose but it changes who YOU are on your nightly CNN show. I am so sorry for your choice and I believe it lowers the imagine you present to those of us who watch your show on CNN.

I have tattoos and I donate blood every 8 weeks. The state of Louisiana has such strict guidelines for needles and sterilization that you can donate blood 30 days after a tattoo and of course your blood is screened before they use it. 15 years and 6 tattoos later I'm still donating and I'm still clean as a whistle! So get your facts before making a statement that give people false information, M'kay?!?
See what your tattoos will look like in your eighty's, ugh.
tatoos are the major cause of hep c. People that are tatooed can never give blood No one talks about that!!
