Earlier today, Anderson taped a one-hour interview with music icon Janet Jackson. In this exclusive clip, Anderson asks Janet what advice she has for Whitney Houston's grieving family, particularly her daughter Bobbi Kristina.

"It's a very, very tough time. Even though it's still a loss... I lost my brother, she lost her mother," says Janet, adding, "There's still a difference, even though there's a still a loss to a family, I don't know what that's like being so young. It was hard for me. It was very, very difficult for me. I didn't want to accept it, it's very difficult. You have to come to terms at some point, you have to actually give it up to God, and it sounds so mean, but you have to move on. You can't hold on to that because it can be very devastating. Sometimes therapy is the best thing."

Anderson asks Janet where she was when she heard the news of Whitney's passing, and what her first reaction was...

"I couldn't believe it," says Janet. "Immediately, I started shaking. I was trying to text everyone that I knew to let them know, and I was speechless. I could not believe it."

"To you, what was she [Whitney] like as a performer?" Anderson asks Janet.

"Incredible. She was known as The Voice," says Janet. "When she would open her mouth and this instrument would come out, you would obviously understand why. She was such a sweet, sweet soul."

Hear more in this clip...

"It's very, very devastating and I pray for her and her family, even Bobby [Brown]," says Janet, "I mean he's going through so much. They are all going through so much. The mother, it's very sad."

Anderson's unforgettable interview with Janet, a daytime exclusive, airs on Presidents' Day, Monday, February 20. During the hour, Janet talks candidly about her career, her legendary brother Michael, her life-long struggle with self-esteem and weight, and so much more. Janet's book, "True You," is now available in paperback.

As usual, we all must count our blessings...
Be happy for EVER having that person at all that you love is now gone that you lost & it will balance you out at times of mourning. Otherwise you'll feel like you are losing your mind & will find grief uncontrollable.

This is all very easy to say but you are completely ignoring the fact that she grew up in a pretty screwed up household. When you know better you do better! Her role models were 2 parents that did drugs and exhibited behavior that no child should have to witness. It is so easy judge others...it is sad to see. How does calling her ugly accomplish anything positive? You are just being mean and malicious to a child that never asked to be brought into this world. Shame on you & everyone else spreading all this negativity on an very sad situation!!!

That was very sweet of her to say. i so agree with her. Sometimes I still have hard times from when my grandma died 10 years ago. It's hard to accept it.

Bobbi Kristina needs to grow the f*ck up. You don't see Michael Jackson's kids acting like this. They lost a parent too, and have been handling it with class and dignity, something this girl will never have. She needs to stop thinking she is "special" because of who her mother was. Soooo ghetto. She has always had an attitude problem, and I don't feel sorry for her one bit. She acts like she's better than everybody else, and except for being Whitney's daughter she is just a nobody. Can't sing, ugly, no talent. Go away, sick of hearing about her already! smdh

I haven't a clue what this "House Too" is rambling on about...It's your own insecurites, anytime you have to put one race down to try to elavate yourself. Dolly didn't make Whitney and Whitney didn't make Dolly. Dolly came out with a song that everyone liked. Whitney with Dolly's permission used it in a movie, which became more popular because of the emotions coupled with the movie, the passion she sang it with, and the exposure it got to the black community. So if Dolly had never first put it out there...Whitney would of never heard of it and made it the hit that it was...so you see...IT.. WOULD OF NEVER BECAME POPULAR WITHOUT EITHER ONE OF THEM.....Got IT! The ridiculous things people waste time hating on...I can't beleive it!!!

Good morning! God is so good and he does have a way of calling on his children to get others to adhere. Whitney and Michael will always be a precious life lost to us all in flesh but never lost in Spirit. My heart goes out to Miss Bobbi Kristina and the rest of the family. I know what it is to have lost a Grandmother, Father and Father-in-Law all within the last three years. I don't know what it is at her age. A life lost at any age is just that, there's no easy way to accept, comfort, express one emotions. But GOD!!! He is always there, through every step, every tear, through it all. I do agree with Janet Jackson @ some point you will have to 'Let Go & Let GOD!' He is waiting to make that burden easy, He LOVES YOU, will NEVER leave nor FORSAKE YOU! Let HIM have it when you are ready. Through HIM HE will move you through life with your mother present. They both live through you now Bobbi K. Love you so much sweetheart & you take care. GOD is waiting with HIS hand out to walk through this with you. PEACE BE STILL!!!

I've recently lost My only Son of twenty two years on 4/07/2011. And also both parents and grandparents on each side of the family. I know its devaststing to loss a loved one that you are so close to, especially a parent or a child. Even though You grieve they are still with you in memories and in spirit. The bible teaches on life and death. I study as much as I can. Life has been since the beginning of time But so has Death. Death has entered into the world through deception and you can find this in the first Book of Genesis. Even though we die in the flesh we move on in Spirit. So many people wonder why God allows people to die? First I want you to understand God doesn't desire no one to die but to turn from their wicked ways and live. And during My Son's death I read this at his funeral but didn't get into the details because they really didn't want Me to speak. Death in one way is like planting a seed in the ground. For the seed to grow it must first die. When it comes to the funeral a multitude of people come and there the word of God is preach. God is trying to draw us near to him as dear children. But yet we see and do not understand because we are blind to the word of God. Its really hard for Me to explain but I will give another example as I gave to a young girl after My Son's passing. Look at an ear of corn or even yet any crop you plant in the field. The seed is dried up because the seed is dead. But after it is planted and watered the seed become life again and grows a multitude of crops. Its the same with the multitude that shows at the funeral some get even closer to God and are saved by the word even though we die in the flesh we are risen in Spirit and given a Spiritual body. And this is called the resurrection even though we cannot see them but they are always with us inside our hearts and memories. I hope this helps and My prayers will always be with those that loss a life which is a precious gift from God.

I will miss Whitney so, so much. Janet was very kind in her remarks. I'm sure Whitney just fell asleep in the bathtub. It's so easy to do that. Drinking alcohol is not good with any medicines, but I think it was the falling asleep. I am sure it was an accident. I worry for her daughter.

Wasn't going to weigh in but I felt it was needed!Dear Janet knows more than anyone about the pressures of fame ,especially in the Music Industry! For shame expecting a child to move on!Especially so early on!Of course prayer and counseling was appropriate but moving on so soon!I doubt it!This was /is her mother and she was very close to her!Only time will heal, ,give her time! She hasn't even had the funeral yet!I know you want to plug your book and all but there's a time and a place !And to the media, shame on you , "perpetually making a mockery of a life"!We all fall short! We're not God!That's why we repent and strive to do better! That's what's wrong with the World to day!Everyone is so eager to exploit themselves and others!Let the family heal.

Whitney Houston"Mother,Sister,Daughter, friend and gifted voice that is gone but not forgotten!Keep your head up Keistina ,Time ,Prayer and Love will see you through!
