I really bonded with the woman that had killed her husband, the abuser. I lived the same thing she did for 12 long years and finally had the courage to leave - after he threathened me with a shotgun that he had just loaded while I lay on the bed not knowing what was going to happen next, while my 2 kids were in the next room. I managed to get out of the house that night and slept on a lawn chair in the garage. The next morning I went to a lawyer who served him 10 days later with an order to leave the house. To this day, I'm happy I had the courage to do that to save my kids' and my life. I'm sure we would be dead by now had I not taken that step. The show made me relive a lot of feelings I have buried for a long time. Thank you Anderson, for this therapy.
Dear Mr.Cooper,
My name is Kristina Giberson; from Barrie, ON CANADA. Was just wanting to email you, and say that I was very interested in your segment on Conversion Disorder. I was diagnoised after my workplace accident that occurred 4 years ago. Back in 2003, after a mental health hospitalization, I had a pseudoseizure like the girl did on your show. And then back over 3 years ago, came the Conversion diagnois. However, I dont have the twitches and verbal outburts. They claim mine is from being severely stressed and traumatized by numerous events over my life time. I am currently being treated for Major Severe Depression and PTSD, but not for the Conversion Disorder by a pychatrist and social counselling. If you would like more information or to contact me, please feel free to at keleno@hotmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time. This is a condition that isnt common, so it really meant alot for your to publize this information. Sincerely, Kristina Giberson
