Are you having trouble getting into a good mood? It may be that you need more dopamine, a naturally-produced chemical in your body that can help perk you up.

Dr. Mike Dow has created this quiz to determine if you have low dopamine. If you find after taking the quiz that you do have low dopamine, check out Dr. Mike's tips for mood-boosting activities that can increase your dopamine.

Once you're done, be sure to see if your serotonin is low with our other quiz: "Is My Serotonin Low"?

My name is Jessie. Let me start by saying that I am 19 years old. I have struggled with a number of health concerns, including constant pain in my back that won't go away, sleep disorders, RLS, concentration problems, severe migraines, anxiety problems, and depression problems.
I am well aware that this is so much! It even strikes me as crazy! But i have been dealing with this since I have been 12 years old. Each year it gets worse. I started off by taking normal things such as tylenol and just medications like that. Nothing worked. Ever.

I have seen my doctor about all of this. He is currently treating me for depression, of which has not really helped anthing at all. But, he continues to change my medication from one depression medicine to another. I have tried celexa and pristiq. At first, they gave me somewhat decent sleep, but then that just went away. All of my symptoms still remain and I am completely lost.
I have done research on Fibromyalgia, and low dopamine levels. Both of which sound so similiar to what I am going through. However, my doctor is not treating me for anything else, and the pain medications he has also given me refused to work, and he no longer gave me anything from there, still believing that the depression medication will work.
I am so tired of having pain every day, and feeling abnormal. I want my sleep and I want to be able to eat at regular times. I would also love it if I would be able to sit down and also concentrate on my homework. I have no one to go to for help. No specialist or anybody that even remotely knows what they are talking about!
I mostly blame it on the town that I live in (haha).

I would love to have help with my problems, as I am open to any type of solution or idea of what is wrong with me!

I have a sleep disorder and was wanting to know if you could do a show on it. My neurologist is Dr.Shamieh in Lake Charles, LA. (337-433-0762)I do things in my sleep and don't know it. My last doctors appointment my husband went and I stayed home. I have been falling on the floor and he has had to get me up and put me to bed. I do not even know it. I can tell when I have done something as will wake up hurting. My husband has a hard time getting me up as I can't help him as I am asleep. I need someone to listen and maybe they will do research on why people like me do things. My neurologist tells me they don't know why and can only give me meds to try and help me stay in bed. I always say it is hard to be me. But now I say it is hard on my husband also. I could go on about things I do, but right now it serves no purpose. I just really need answers that I can't get. There are no studies being done that I know of. I would like someone to contact my doctor as at times I feel like I must be crazy. He keeps telling me I am not. There has to be more people like me out there. My doctor says most of the medical field do not even know about what I have. Please help me Cooper!

Going by the test I need both Serotonin & Dopamine. I think the test is somewhat of a joke since most everyone is going to fit in both categories at times.

I think comes when we are missing something in our life, so we feel we need to compensate. we all go through that, but we deal with it differently.

My comment relates to the show that aired today on the upstate newyork.the girls with the tics.i do not have these symptoms, but I have been pregnant 2 times.each time,I had what I call is tics in my legs.the feeling of an itch.my legs would just go crazy.and if I tried to hold that feeling back,it would get worse.i had this the whole 9 months that I was pregnant.it completely stopped the minute my children were born.so all of these tics could be a result of stress or hormones,wh is it that it is just girls getting these tics? I still find it strange that this happend to me,but thankful it stopped when I had my kids.i hope some doctors can find the reason this is happening.good luck!
