Joan Rivers' Plastic Surgery Intervention

On Monday, Joan and Melissa Rivers join Anderson in the studio.
In addition to her role as a comedian and on-air personality, Joan Rivers' third claim to fame stems from her seemingly addictive relationship with plastic surgery. In season one of WeTV's "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best," Melissa stages a plastic surgery intervention for Joan.
"At one point I started to think the risk outweighs the reward," Melissa says of her mother's cosmetic procedures. "So, I wanted my mom to know how I felt about it, and I think I made myself fairly clear."
Anderson confronts Joan about a rumor he heard that she's had 734 plastic surgery procedures. See Joan's response in the video below.

I had to turn your show off...
I was fortunate enough to see Joan at the Lake Geneva Playboy club when she was starting out . I saw her the next day in the pool with her husband and Melissa when Melissa was a baby. Ten years ago, I saw Joan perform and was able to speak to her personally. I was shocked to see her skin up close. She looks like her face will crack, the skin is so thin, plus her mouth curves up and her eyes have a slant to them . I am 74 , never had anything done to my face and look younger then Joan. I still enjoy her comedy but find her looks distracting. I agree with Melissa, enough is enough.
Joan has always had a very nice looking face and she has been very funny for years. However now days she has become almost unwatchable for me. She has become so addicted to plastic surgery that she is almost unrecognizable from who she was before. I have watched her for years. I am 65 so I have seen her from the start. I know people are sometimes obsessive about their looks but obsessive compulsive disorder is running a muck. She has taken it to a whole new level. I do hope her daughter can get her to cut back some because you only live once and she is running out of skin to pull back and will only do more harm than good. I wish her well and hope she can get the help she needs.

I love joan Rivers more now than I did when she was younger!!!! I think she is beautiful and brave! She's funny lovable, has so much energy for her age! I will be 61 this year and I have tons of pain but I do get around, in also vain like Joan I won't go anywhere without my makeup even when I had a hearth Catherization and had a major heart attack during the procedure, still mthe makeup was on! I admire Joan or wanting to stay as beautiful as she is here on this earth! I love mellisa and her mothering skills, she is a great mom and is very concerned how here som grow up! I also think Mellisa also was raised very well by her parents and after Joan lost the love of her life as hard as that was; she still carried I and raisied one heck of daughter!!!!! I don't think this world thinks arou what Joan lost when she lost the love of here life!! She deserves must credit bc I can't imagine what I would do without this husband I have had for 31 years'! He is y third husband but not a turd!! Lol so kudo's to u Joan, Mellisa and Cooper I have fallen I love with u three since your snow has aired and I don't miss a ome of them! Joan I watch u very closely when I'm watching the show and I don't see how u o so much and so many things! You seem to be the happiest lady I've seen on TV! Hi , y'all its me again, I just read some comments below and I can't believe someone has ask Joan for a free facial surgery! I that's so not cool! Enter the sweepstakes bc you want to know Joan and Melissa for who they are and not for what u can get! If you enter and win save the thousand dollar prize money and put it torwards your face! I love Joan & Melissa Rivers. And I also watch and love your show Anderson.......I watched as Melissa put Joan on plastic surgery restriction. I have a favor to been needed for about 45 years. If Joan cannot have anymore surgery - could she please give me hers!!!!! I have had acne for at least 40 years and the damage is extreme. I have been so humiliated for years as your face is something you cannot hide. I would like to know if Joan would give me her surgeon and treatment as a gift of a lifetime. I watched your show where Melissa put Joan on plastic surgery restriction. I have had acne since I was 12, now 58. The damage to my face is terrible. I would like to know if Joan would donate her plastic surgery for me. Your face is something you cannot hide and have been humiliated going on 46 years. If I could attach a picture I would - I'm sure she would donate after seeing me. Please forward my heart felt request. I love your show Anderson - continue on with your brightness and shine. I totally agree that plaids or any print on TV is too much. And you should always wear long sleeves. Otherwise, Anderson always looks GREAT!
I like the v-neck sweater look.
This is one "Anderson" I'm looking forward to. Joan is simply the B.E.S.T. Still cutting-edge, still selling out her shows and the woman has two TV shows....and that's after a nearly 50-year career! Go Joan!!
I love Joan Rivers but this last round of facelift and fillers left her face distorted. She was always an attractive woman.

please tell Joan that if she thinks she has a problem with her arms flaps,she should see mine, ever since the surgery, I lost close to 200 lbs. I have curtains under my arms, I would gladly switch with her, I don't have the means to have surgery to remove them and the insurance wont pay for surgery---Joan you are beautiful just as you are.
