How Does OCD Escalate to Take Over?
Dr. Jennifer O'Connor, PhD, a licensed psychologist explains how OCD escalates to a dangerous state, as in the case of Anderson's guest, also a Jennifer.
"How do things escalate to this point? How does it grow to take over?" asks Anderson.
"Particularly when OCD starts early in life, that suggests there is a strong biogenetic predisposition," says Dr. O'Connor. "So her brain (Jennifer) is predisposed to operating in this way. What's happening is her brain is sending off these false alarm signals. And so you're brain is telling you that something is dangerous and you need to do something to fix it."

My sixteen year son has OCD. He has try to comment sucide and been seen by doctors and mental hospital. He came out of the hospital worse than he went in. I think doctors and hospitals don't know how to treat OCD that is why so many people have to suffer from it. My son been made fun of in school by teachers, staff, and kids. I'm tried of him been made fun of but, the older he gets the worse his OCD gets. He was a premie two months early don't know if this was the cause of his OCD or not. Everyone been praying for him too.
Dr. Jennifer O'Connor, PhD was too hard to hear...her voice was squeaky and her face seemed distorted. Her brow was constantly in wrinkle. I could not stay focused on her message.
I think Jennifer refuses to get help because she's afraid to face the responsibilities of being an adult.
seriously.....was Jennifer really questioning her friends amount of money he "gives" her....I'm sorry but I think she has more issues than ocd....she told her mom to stop hugging her...I think she's a spoiled brat!! honestly I felt bad for her til she dissed her male friend amount the money....why does she feel so intitled?
