Trends in 2012, from Yahoo! Shine

Jennifer Romolini, Editor-in-Chief at Yahoo! Shine, joined the show to talk to Anderson about what's hot and trendy in 2012. From beauty to tech to finances, Jennifer has the inside scoop on what you'll be seeing more of this year.
Money: More Negotiations
Because jobs are still scarce in this economy, Jennifer says that people are trying to get the most out of the jobs they already have, rather than looking for new work. People are inquiring about how they can get a raise. Jennifer encourages that employees evaluate their value and test the waters by asking for a raise when it's appropriate.
Beauty: Cosmetic Eye Color Surgery
Colored contact lenses are out, and cosmetic eye color surgery is in. A $5,000 laser surgery that lasts 20 seconds will remove layers of your eye pigment to reveal the blue pigment underneath, changing eye color to blue.
Dating: Relationship Apps
Online dating is quickly becoming outdated, as relationship apps take hold. The apps allow users to check-in and instantly broadcast where they are, and then meet up with other users in their same vicinity. Rather than browsing online profiles, people will meet who is actually nearby.
Technology: Designer 3D Glasses
We've all had experiences with those big bins of 3D glasses at movie theaters. Jennifer and Anderson discuss how they not only make you look "dorky," but they're also reused and can be filmy, slimy and generally gross. Designer fashion brands are trying to revolutionize the traditional 3D glasses by creating stylish, designer 3D glasses of their own.
Moms: Mom Confessions
"Bad is the new good," Jennifer says. In blogs and comments all over the web, Jennifer says moms are talking to each other about mistakes in their life, whether it's "trial and error" parenting, cooking mishaps, career mistakes or anything else.

I am looking for the web site where you can sell your old cell phones to them... any idea what it was? I think it was giselle something... thanks
WELL DIS MY FIRST TIME BUT I LIKES IT IS OKAY N HOPING TO SEE MORE OF IT THANKS.
This is known to give side effects such as teardown of the eyes cor. and other parts! Also blindness and cataracts--don't do it
Apparently changing your eye color permanently is the new craze. I work in an optometrist office. The cosmetic eye surgery is not safe, and will probably cause permanent eye damage, which could lead to blindness. You should really research cosmetic procedures before you recommend them to readers.
Check out this article about a female artist who will probably never see again because of this procedure.

What was up with that Guadalajara comment? Anderson doesn't think Mexico has any real doctors? or does he think the US doesn't have any quacks? That was a really stupid and ignorant comment he made.
Though I think the relationship app could be fun and is an interesting idea I can't help but wonder how safe this would be. You never know who is on the other end and at least with online dating you can talk in a safe distance before deciding to meet, and this can still be dangerous. I just can't help but thinking some poor girl will be lonely and use this app just to find herself in the hands of a bad person and stuck in a bad situation. It's nice to meet people in the same town I guess but how close does this work? Is it a few blocks or a few miles or same county? Girls, and guys, just be careful who you are meeting especially online and on apps like this.
Any kind of surgery on your eyes that is not necessary is not smart! If cosmetic surgery backfires and damages your eye(s) it would be lifelong more than likely! Of all the parts of our bodies not to play games with, it is our eyes!
That dating app sounds scary. You could have instant stalkers. No thank you.
Very interesting!
...wait till you land on a half way stupid doctor...who might change your eyeye color forever to total darkness !!!
ADVISE : NEVER MESS WITH YOUR GOD GIVEN ANYTHING ! :)
it is a very intresting views and comments that i have read and is looking foward to reading more in the future thank you
OMG that sounds like eugenics! Not good.
This really isn't a surgical procedure, so it's wrong to call it "surgery". No incisions are made at all; in fact, no contact is made with the eye. The laser energy is simply directed at and absorbed by the anterior pigment of the iris. The pigment is then recognized as damaged, and your body naturally and gradually discards the changed tissue. Because it is non-invasive and has no effect on the rest of the eye, it appears to be safe.
change hair color and all that is ok, but lets be honest, the real breakthru medical advance everyone's waiting for is for a mans private area, everyone wants to be thicker or longer and nothing really works that is safe, i don't believe lasers of stem sells can help in this area. while i don't have a problem in this area, i do know guys who can't find happyness in a relationship because they are exceptionally small and don't have any hope of fixing it
There's no such thing as 'blue pigment' lol blue eyes result from lack of pigment... so the surgery doesn't "remove layers of your eye pigment to reveal the blue pigment underneath" it just removes most/all of your pigment...
