FDA Orders Trent to Shut Down: Do You Agree?

Trent Arsenault, who donates his sperm to couples looking to have children, was ordered by the FDA to "cease manufacture."
Trent's attorney, Amber Taylor, says this is an instance in which the government is inappropriately applying regulations. "Trent is not a sperm bank, Trent is not a small medical practice. Trent is an individual."
Anderson asks, "So if Trent was having intercourse with all these different women and they were getting pregnant, the FDA wouldn't have anything to say about that. It's because he's giving it away in the way that he is?"
"Correct" says Taylor.
Trent's response: "I don't know if sperm is a food or a drug. If I am told to stop manufacturing. That would be tough for me to do."

Why is it so important to make sure that a sperm donator be checked for diseases etc.and we have no laws for all the single females having children. There are so many young females having children that don't even have a dime to raise them. Yet they don't have any rules or laws questioning them to be checked for diseases etc and they are allowed to have as many children as they want?
Trent is providing a wonderful service for people that want children. I say keep up the good work! The FDA is jealous and haven't figured a way to tax him on the emissions!
We, Spiritual Beings have been reaching & touching our flesh from the time we are born without knowing it. It continues through life whether we want to admitted or not. How can the FDA or anyone tell a person what one can or cannot do with your owe body. Especially, when you are not affecting or hurting anyone else. I do feel that there is more to this individuals' reason for "HIS ISLATION" but,that's "JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION!"
OMG! He is not very good to look at...I wouldn't want a child to look like him! Sorry.
There are all kinds of red flags about donor Trent Arsenault:
1. He posts pornographic photos of himself on the internet through Xtube under the name Trentdog and Trentcat (did you see the one where he rubs his penis all over solar panels in his bedroom)? He admitted in an interview that he did not want the media to know about this dark behavior.
2. He has not had a psychological exam.
3. He falsely advertises pictures of what he wants you to think are his offspring when he really is in a photograph holding his neighbor’s child.
4. He falsely advertises and wants you to believe that he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. In fact he never made it one semester before he “escaped” by jumping the fence in the middle of the night and turned himself in at Levensworth prison.
5. Read the fine print about what really is a birth defect he has. On his website he lists and wants you to think that he had his appendix removed when a new born but he really had twisted bowels, a life threatening condition.
With this guys shady past and pattern of lies and misconceptions, he is a lawyer’s dream to be on the witness stand for a cross examination. Those duped by Trent ought to be in line suing him, according to his donor site he has a good job and makes a lot of money.

I feel our government has their hands in too many parts of our lives. Trent is not taking money from these people who need his help and that is a big plus in my book. If hes doing everything he says hes doing to keep all parties safe. The one concern is the screening of who will be raising theses 14 babies. Doesn't seem to be any questions about who hes donating to other than no singles. As far as non typical Families (Homosexuals)I feel these couples can be and are just as loving and caring as any one... a little offended by the comment below... but not surprised. I forget sometimes how many shallow minded people there are in this world!
I am glad you had this weirdo on the show for everyone to see his face. OMG.... can a woman be so desperate enough to want a child from this guy ? He had to give away his sperm free because he probably won't pass the test and people may not want to pay for it. Anderson maybe you could get paid for yours, at least your babies would be so cute.

free is good because no one would want to pay for it if they saw him but dangerous. Anderson you could make a lot of money for your sperm, at least your kids would be cute.
I feel that the whole sperm donor and homosexuals equation makes no sense at all. It is almost an oxymoron, in a way. A homosexual doesn't want a physical relationship with someone of the opposite sex and yet when they want a child they want the product of that sexual relationship to make their baby. When these couples say they aren't interested in the opposite sex, but need them to produce a child, I would think that would give them insight into the whole God creating man and woman to procreate as a reason to look into the purpose God had in mind. I would think they could see why we were made as we were made. I would think they might dig a little to understand why God would give someone these feelings and not expect them to act on those feelings. There is a reason.
I liken it to this....
Let's move all men, young and old, who are homosexuals and take them to an island with all they need to live and survive and jobs to work to keep them active. Then, let's take all the homosexual women, young and old, and take them to another island with the same supplies for comfort, food and jobs. Now, let us give them only one restriction where they can not access anything which was produced solely by the opposite sex and the question I have for you is this......
In one hundred years, how many people do you think will be left on those two islands combined?
See, the problem I have is this..... So many people want to take God out of things or they want to shape Him into the God they want Him to be. If we just take a long look at what God did to create this complex earth and just how everything works in a very complex, yet perfect way, it should be simple to understand that two women or two men are not meant to have children the natural way and in realizing that, we need to search for the why's and not how do I do what I want no matter who I go against.
My son knows how I would deal with him in a situation like this. I would love him for who he is and I would not condone what he would be doing. I am a Christian, but I am also a thinking person. There are just some things that don't make sense.
I think the FDA should concentrate on food and drugs! Concentrate on controlling the cost and safety of the things that go into our bodies.
LEAVE TRENT ALONE!
Better yet, why doesn't the FDA go to the local corner bar in my city and regulate the "gentleman" who has WAY more than 14 children that he nor their mothers can support.
Trent may seem strange to some but I think he is a person with a good heart and is trying to help where he can.
If the "gentelman" down the street can legally father all these children and we, the tax payers have to pay to raise them, pay for their schooling, food, housing, healthcare, potential medical and psychological issues then there is something seriously wrong with this country!
Trent isn't even charging which I am sure he could make a nice living if he did. Leave him alone and do what you are supposed to be doing - regulating food and drugs!!!
If the FDA is going to regulate this man for his desire to help people in this fashion, then they need to regulate men sleep with women on a regular basis, get them pregnant, then leave them to take care of the child themselves. Men with over 4 kids with different women, should be required to have a vasectomy. At least with this man, the women know where to find him in case they need him for any information unlike most men who dine and dash and hide from the government just so they don't have to pay child support.
Why are some people on this panel being so cruel and shallow, commenting on Trent's appearance. Grow up.
I think it is sad that our government has to interfere to this level. Why do we rely on the government to be smarter than the individual? I think commenting on a person's appearance is cruel, thoughtless and shallow. The children produced from his donations will have the opportunity to know who their biological father is if they have responsible parents. As I understand, accidental incest is less likely than with sperm bank donations. Think about all the irresponsible parents producing children other ways that the government can't touch!
