Angelina Tells Anderson About Her Mom: 'I Could Never Be As Good of a Mother'

Angelina's mother, American actress and producer Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 at the age of 56 after battling ovarian cancer for more than seven years.

Anderson asks Angelina, "What would she have thought of you as a mom?"

"She did get to meet me as a mom. She met some of my children," says the Angelina. The director and writer of the new film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," tells Anderson...

"You know, she's my mom, so she would always say that I'm doing a great job. But she was an extraordinary mother. She was so selfless and she was so... Just one of those very, very kind people that loved to do everything for others and I could just never be as good of a mother or a person."

"What did you learn from her as a mom? What do you apply?" asked Anderson.

"She was a great listener and a great friend. She was my best friend. I could talk to her about everything and she... I guess she made me feel like I had a voice and that no matter what would happen, I knew she’d loved me."

Bertrand co-founded the All Tribes Foundation, to culturally and economically benefit Native Americans, and the Give Love Give Life organization, to raise public awareness of women's cancers.

Angelina is the mother of six: Maddox Chivan, 10, Pax Thien, 8, Zahara Marley, 6, Shiloh Nouvel, 5, and twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, 3.
