Carry cash only because it hurts truly to hand cash over. I also ask myself... "DO I REALLY REALLY NEED THIS? ...or..."IS MY LIFE OVER IF I DO NOT HAVE THIS?

I save money buying milk. I use skim milk but buy 2%, they cost the same, then add a third water to dilute the milk to skim. This way I end up with a third more milk for the same price.

What are the list of web sites that were mentioned on the show.
Cheap? something?
I want to buy some UGG slippers for my mother and was wondering what the best web site is to use?

I have saved money by starting my own online business. I purchase items for the family from my own website, and I get paid to shop. I also have great tax write offs for owning my own business. Anyone who doesn't own their own business is basically waisting 20 dollars per day. The website is www.mickiwyatt/myecon.net I saved 90 dollars in cologne for my husband the other day. In addition, I earned commission on the items that I purchased. Join the free online mall, and you can get paid to shop too.

I use my charge card for almost everything ... That way I have a record of what I spent in a month making it easier at tax time, also I can review what I spend to see if I can make cuts in future spending ... I also get money back from using my card ... I only charge what I can pay for and never carry a balance ... I know I could save money by not having a dog, but since I do have, we walk together so that helps us stay healthier ... I pick up change when I walk the dogs and also carry a store bag or Taco Bell used cup for a free pooper scooper ... I pick up soda cans to sell and any loose nails or screws saving everyone from getting flat tires or worse a person getting stuck by a rusty nail ... On days that people have their recycling bins out, I also pick up plastic bottles and put them in the next bin I come to ... I take the lids off because I have seen a place that wants the plastic lids to help pay for some kid's chemo ... I hope that is for real, it is in one of the break-rooms at one of the schools I sub at ... I saw a hint where someone cuts things in half to save money and I do that too ... One of those is the fabric softener sheets ... I know that is small but every penny counts ... I never collect change in a jar ... I save by spending my change as fast as I can ... That way I can leave my money that is in the bank ... Money in a jar is not getting interest on it ... In Fort Worth there is an outlet store of a thrift store and on Wednesdays all clothes are only a quarter ... It starts at $1.75 on Thursdays and goes down by a quarter each day ... I shop there around 4 times a year ... For the last two years I have started eating less, so that saves on doctor and grocery bills ... I have lost 36 pounds ... My husband has lost over 100 pounds ... Since I feed him I watch every bite that goes in his mouth ... Unfortunately no one feeds me and watches my every bite, so at lunch at work I eat 2 bite size candy bars and sometimes a soft drink with my lunch ... Taking a piece of fruit and half of a sandwich may be ok but eating the junk food on the side; not so good ... I waited until my husband lost a toe to diabetes before I put him on a diet ... Please don't wait if you are having health problems ... Lose the weight now ... I grow a few of my vegetables and fruits ... I trade flowers with others so I don't have to buy plants ... Each year I expand my perennial flower beds so I have less yard to mow ... I mow every 10 days instead of once a week and I mow the yard myself ... Most of my neighbors pay someone to do it ... I don'*****er my yard and it looks fine ... When it rains, I put out old plastic trash cans I store in my storage shed ... I use tha*****er for my garden ... After it rains I put the lid on the cans to keep bugs out ... Most of the plastic cans I have were either being thrown out; same with the wheel barrow I have ... Some I bought on clearance for only $2 ... When I weed the yard or clip back plants I drag around one of those light weight cans then drag them to my compost pile when they are full ... I wear clothing items like jeans or whatever I can more than once, if they pass the smell test ... When I get home from work I change into my "play clothes" so I can wear the work clothes more than once and they don't wear out as fast ... I am in Texas and it saves on laundry to wear shorts and tank tops around the house ... I try to drive as little as I can ... When I sub at a school, I pick one close to home and on the way home stop at the store twice a week looking for only their bargains ... I bring my green bags so I won't have to waste bags; but I do take used plastic bags out of the recycle bag barrel so that I use them for my garbage, use them as a pooper scooper or as bags to carry to pick up trash in my neighborhood ... It has been years since I have bought a black trash bag ... I take the little store bags and tie them together before I put them at the curb ... I also use the big dog food bags for a trash bag when I pick up sticks in my yard ... I have a compost pile but I don't put sticks in it ... I also compost some of my trash so I don't put as much at the curb as my neighbors ... When I eat out it is something simple like Taco Bell ... They give Seniors free drinks in my town ... I pick up everyone's cup they leave on the table for future pooper scoopers ... Now that the kids are grown we only have a room air-conditioner or heater for one room and we don't cool or heat the whole house ... We live in Texas so we can get away with that since it does not get all that cold here ... I still at 61 climb on my roof to look for damage since we have had bad storms the last several years ... I take roof tar up there to try and make the roof last longer ... Saves both the insurance company and me by doing that ... As I said before I pick up items out of my neighbors trash and I also put out items of interest two days before trash day and they are gone by the next day ... Saves the landfill ... I also look on Craig's List for free items ... My dryer was free ... After telling my daughter I was going to look on the internet for a free or low cost dryer, she said she was going to buy one and I could have her old one ... We got rid of cable TV ... We do have to spend money on some things like charities and gas to take my Mom places ... I use my found change money and can money, plus any money from my yard-sales to pay for the charities ... That way I don't have to take as much out of savings to do that ... If you are young start saving now so you can get the compound interest making your retirement savings larger ... I know it is hard because we were sandwiched between the cost of our children and our Mothers ... Then we had to retire early after my husband had a mild stroke then last year he also had a head injury ... If you are a woman make sure you have your college degree before you have children ... That way if you have to become the primary bread winner you are ready for it ... Remember getting old is not for sissies ... Save money now and be ready ...

i love juice but it has a lot of calories/sugar, so i mix i bottle of juice with same amount of water and get twice as much juice for the same price. watering it down does very little to the taste. more juice/less sugar. you can also buy full fat milk and water it down as well. to save money.

I coupon like crazy. I have friends who give me all their coupon inserts and sometimes I have a pile 4 inches high to go through. I only clip the ones I will use. When I find ones I will use, I get at least 3 or 4 of them (there are usually at least 4 of each insert by the time my friend gives them to me.)Then I pass it on to another friend. My store's weekly sales start on Sunday so I go online or look at the circular in the weekly county paper. By Sunday, I know exactly what is on sale that I can combine with my coupons, and I buy several of the item. It's sort of low-grade stockpiling mentality. Anyway, there are some things we never seem to run out of and most things, I just never, never pay full price for.

I make many of my cleaning products which is much less expensive than purchasing them. Making your own laundry stain remover is very easy and works great. You can read about it here:

I try to save all the change that I have in my purse for that day. You would be surprised how much you have in a jar at the end of the month, year. Also, I do live on cash in my pocket. That means that I don't spend more than I have in cash. I only take 25.00 with me and live on it for a week, or more. I keep tract of my coupons and see what is on sale that I need and then use my coupon at the same time. I don't fall for store ads that make you buy more than you need. Take out the coupon that you need for the item and that's all. Just because it's on sale, ask yourself "Do I need it?" If not, I put it back. I have come to realize that stores give you 2 for 1. I only buy the 1, if I need it. Live off your means and I have cut back on so much. I live on a minimum budget. Do away with the extra's. Only buy what I need. Make cheaper meats tender and only buy on sale. Do check the dates on products. Since stores sell sale items that are ready to expire.

Saving money buy using cash could be an idea for very few cases.
WHen you charge credit card you have exacr amount and don't feel like you need or want to spend more.
When you pay in cash you have to go to the bank and withdraw money before the purchase. When the purchase is $80-$90 you would withdraw $100 and when the purchase is in the range $850-$900 you would just in case took $1000. You go to the store, pay for the merchendise and you are left with some spare cash. In most cases enybody will go and buy additional smaller item using the spare.
This is very well known psychological aspect and most selesmen persuade customer to buy the larger item first and later before he pays for it salesmen are suggesting all those additions. It is for buying suit and later a tie or buying a TV and later warranty or buying a car and later A/C or automatic transmission for it.
Your program is part of brainwashing people.

I learned the hard way about using a credit card and it got me into a lot of trouble. So now I don't have one.
When I spend money I've learned to buy what I need first. Anything I want can come later with a bit of saving. That's how I was able to buy my first computer. Simply putting a small amount of money aside and NOT touching it for any reason. Don't get me wrong, it was hard. It was so tempting to stick my hand in the cookie jar and take some out for whatever. And yes....I did give in a time or two. But in the end I prevailed and bought the computer after a year of saving.
Saving money is very hard, especially with this economy being the way it is. If you stick to it, making your goals small with short time spans, it can be done.
