David Arquette on Parenting: 'Kids Need Structure'
On Tuesday's show, David Arquette tells Anderson that he didn't have a lot of boundaries while growing up. Born on a on a spiritual commune, Arquette says many times he wanted boundaries.
"I think kids need structure," says Arquette, who is father to 7-year-old Coco. "They need a sound voice to kind of guide them through life. I think a lot of parents make the problem of being strict in a way where it's like they own their kids."
He continues, "To me, she's [Coco] like a gift to me, and I just want to provide her with an understanding of this world, so when she gets to the place where she has to make decisions for herself, she'll have a strong center."

All children need boundaries and guidelines...when i was growing my friends who were able to do anything they wanted wished they had a moms like mines who talked to me and made me earn my responsibility...I know all to well that a child with structure deals with adulthood way better than a spoiled brat.
