Jaiya Ma is in a polyamorous relationship with her two lovers, Ian and Jon. Polyamory is defined by Merriam-Webster as "the state or practice of having more than one open romantic relationship at a time." Jaiya lives with Ian and Jon, and they all raise a son together.

Having known Jon and Jaiya for many years, and Ian for a short time, without a doubt, I can attest to this relationship as healthy and empowering for their beautiful son. Their lifes are rich and full and radiate happiness, health and most of all unconditional love.
It is time for us to expand our thoughts about relationship and what it means. Each of should have the right and responsibility to love as we choose; authentically and full-on blissfully. True love is about growth and respect. Most of all it is about honesty. This poly "V" demonstrates and embraces all of what love means!

Thanks, Jaiya, Jon, and Ian (and thanks to Anderson Cooper), for showing poly families in such a positive and respectful light. Polyamory offers a great deal of opportunity for love and support for the adults, and also for children raised with extra hearts and hands to care for them. (And really, what parent hasn't at some time or another wished for an extra set of hands??) It's not for everyone, but it does work well for some. Thanks for this window into a loving polyamorous family.
I loved this story and commend this family for their open healthy approach to how they live. I too agree wholeheartedly to living in a world where all people are free to choose the way they live and love. Nobody should have the right to dictate to another what makes a family.
