Is It Okay to Dress a 3-Year-Old in a Prostitute Costume for a Pageant?
After the "Toddlers & Tiaras" show, there were lots of tweets, Facebook posts and comments about the mother who dressed her daughter for a beauty pageant in Julia Roberts' prostitute costume from the movie "Pretty Woman."
On today's show, Anderson also speaks with Wendy Dickey, the mom behind the controversy.
Anderson asks, "What made you think that it would be a good idea to dress her up as Julia Roberts playing a prostitute?"
"Well, I think of what everybody has seen and heard, they are under the impression that I just got up one morning and said, 'Hey, I'm going to dress my daughter like a prostitute,'" says Dickey. "But that was not the case at all. This was a case of dressing her up as a Julia Roberts' character."
Dickey continues to say that her 3-year-old daughter Paisley's performance was meant to be funny. "I would never want my daughter to grow up and be a prostitute. No mom in here would, but it was a costume, nothing more than a costume."

Paisley's mother appears to have her answers well rehearsed. Somehow I do not feel this mother has her daughters best interests at heart. I know a few Pageant Mommas, they are very thoughtful of the image their daughter/son is portrayed as.
I'm sorry but I think there is something wrong with someone who could look at that little girl and have a bad thought. Maybe the woman made a bad decision but who has raised a kid and not wished they made a different decision on something. She just got John Q Public on her case. Girls love to dress up. Worried she will grow up thinking her look are important, well my last few trip out shopping makes me wish people put more importance in how they look. The child look well fed, was well behaved,has a home,love, introduced to church, time with her Mother and family. Go to the school or just look around in public . I wish all kids in the US could go to bed tonight fed and warm. I know thing can be taken to far but that goes for so much sports , religion, education and how important their opinions are how smart they are appearing

i happen to know that pedos are not alowed in the pagets when they arive their asked if they have children in the pagent. if not they are asked to leave. i think its such crap that ppl think its wrong to put thier chilren in them because the children enjoy them and it builds self confidence. to the ones who disagree, i accept your opionion. everyone has thier own. this is mine
I'm a foster mom. I'm sure I'll be seeing all of these girls reeeeeal soon. And if not, there's a failure in the system because they all deserve to at least be investigated.
Show suggestion: could you dig down to find out what happened to all the money and aid that was sent to Haiti? How are the people? What happened to those kids that were shipped out? Who's in charge? .... and where's the money? Who's in charge ???
Suggestion: there are MILLIONS of sea going containers sitting in spots around that world that could be used for housing, and would be much less likely to succumb to terrible weather, conditions, etc. Why didn't some of the money get spent on something as basic as that idea?

Anderson seems to only find moral objections to issues on his show when his audience disapproves first. He is nothing more than a hypocritical Schill. I jus*****ched one of his shows that was talking about women taking money from men to meet them and go on dates with them (Sound familiar? Escort maybe, but, escorts are just what prostitutes call themselves when dealing the fuzz, right?) and Anderson, was talking to them laughing with them about how much money they made from these men, he even went as far as asking audience members how much they would charge for their "services"!?!?!? Since the VAST majority of Andersons audience members are females that are usually not the best looking or brightest,.... of course they also seemed to have no moral issues with charging money for their "company"! I have a question, why didn't Anderson have a problem with it? Usually there are only two kinds of people who don't mind prostitution,...... prostitutes, and people paying for prostitutes,.....hmmmmm? By contrast, a little while back Anderson had a woman on his show who CHOSE to have sexually explicit pictures taken of herself, well, someone obtained them and posted them to a website where people post "dirt" about other people. Once again, most of Andersons audience members were the cream of the crop female daytime talk show fans, who, you guessed it..... were outraged that some female was suffering embarrassment from her own questionable actions. Anderson quickly jumped on the estrogen bandwagon and blasted and belittled the male owner of this website. I could go on, but I think you're smart enough to see the double standard and hypocrisy that is the Anderson Cooper show.... and moreover Anderson Cooper himself. Anderson, if you read this, please don't pick and choose which morals to stand up with based on ratings, show some integrity. Thanks for reading!

If you wanted to do pretty women....then why did you not put her in a cute dress with a big bow on her head??? Pretty woman wore a lot of nice dresses in the movie. This shows were the moms brain was...shame.

This not right to do to a child.As a former Police Oficer this was a very bad decision made by the parent.I assume the parent in charge sat down the child and explained what a prostitute does, stupid people.
This woman sounds dimwitted and stupid. She says she did not dress her daughter up as a prostitute, but rather that she dressed her daughter up as a "Julia Roberts character". What was the character Julia Roberts was playing...a PROSTITUTE! The people who put their tiny children in these assine "pageants" are usually uneducated poor people who can ill afford the stupid "costumes" adn fees for this insanity.
Absolutely inappropriate and disgusting. It is pathetic that this woman will even attempt to defend this decision. Julia Roberts has played many many characters that weren't of this nature, and if that were all it were about she would have chosen something else. She blatantly tried to make a tiny child "sexy" and it should never be acceptable.
