Bonus Video: Chaz Answers Audience Questions

Thursday, August 23, 2012 5:00AM

The cameras kept rolling on Anderson's interview with Chaz Bono, as the audience asked more questions.

In this first video Chaz talks about his advice for teaching families to understand transgender teens, whether or not he’s offended when people refer to him as a her, and if he feels like "Dancing with the Stars" helped to create his own new identity.

The conversation with the audience continues as Chaz answers more questions about his experience on "Dancing with the Stars" -- his favorite dances, what his rehearsing schedule was like and if he attributes his success on the show to his natural dance talent.

I am not for or against...it is not my business, or place to speak. Peggy Flanagan, the bible was written by men. Men trying to keep control of their civilization...I spent my entire youth reading the bible, was a family and church requirement, and was tested on it regularly...the only quotes from Jesus in the entire book was to be good to each other, love each other, and do not judge each other. LOVE is his only requirement....if you are judging, then you cannot be loving...you are putting someone on a lower level than you think you are on to be able to judge. RJJRJJR, what a wonderful family you have...you were taught the correct principals growing up...LOVE, no matter. Shame on all of you for trying to be a judge over anyone...that job is taken, and he didn't ask any of you to be on the jury!!!

I am amazed that when people use the excuse God dont make mistakes. I dont believe in God. However if I did why does God let all these children born with birth defects. Cancer, missing limbs, messed up brains, stuck together twins. If God dont make mistakes well then I just guess he cruel.

Chaz -- You just cannot continue to encourage our precious CHILDREN to make such an adult decision as well as encourage the parents of these underage, non-adult little people to allow MASSIVE hormone ingestion!! Stop it ... you have yet to bring forth experts from the medical field to enlighten ADULTS to the dangers/damage that massive daily hormone injections have on the human body. It is irresponsible for you, Chaz, to continue to do this ... and YOU KNOW IT!! Their brains(the childrens) are not done growing yet ---> yours (Chaz) has.

If you did not take these daily male hormone injections, your facial hair; your enlarged private parts; your lowered voice tone; and any other physical change(s) that you crow to the world about WOULD DISAPPEAR. If you wish to do these very, very dangerous things to your ADULT body, that is your choice; however, STOP being the "pied piper of follow-me to GenderChange Land" ... without first bringing forth medical experts to educate the public regarding what hidden dangers are lurking... to our impressionable young people in the world when massive hormones are ingested.

These are legitimate concerns, Chaz. Address them.

I don't know why my comment didn't post earlier but I will say it again. All of this transgender crap is nonsense. Chaz is still a girl. God made him that way. He wasted all this money on a surgery to be someone that he isn't. Give it to charity. A support group for children and teens? Really? Why are people encouraging this type of behavior? God doesn't make mistakes. If you were supposed to be a boy then you would've been one.

I have great respect for Chaz Bono. What a classy person he is. Regardless of what comments are thrown in his direction and despite the difficult journey he has persevered through, he always takes the high road responding calmly and thoughtfully to those who are so quick to judge him. A great role model to us all. He's teaching a very important lesson to humanity... that regardless of a person's exterior, it's only what's inside that counts. The world would be a much better place if we just followed his lead (sorry for the pun...). To all the haters out there....it's so easy to judge another if you haven't walked a mile in their shoes. Thank you Chaz for helping get good information to families of kids who find themselves thrown into what can be a very scary, hateful world, through no fault of their own. Best of luck to you, you deserve all the happiness you can handle.

I am shocked and saddened by the hate speech here. You all should be ashamed. I don't really get why you folks are angry with people for being transgender. Try to understand what it means to be transgender instead of just lashing out in anger. Here is a report by the American Psychological Assn. Hate comes from ignorance. Enlighten yourselves and stop hating:

I am happy for Chaz to be able to become whoever the universe designated he should be. Perhaps being Chastity first was intended as a lesson for his spirit. I agree that the judges' remarks lacked sensitivity, but Chaz, why did you agree to subject yourself to that venue in the first place?

Did your Creator make you a girl or a boy? Do you think a Creator with a universal mind could make a mistake? We could not even wrap our tiny minds around that universal mind: corinth 6:9 Do you know the unrightious will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be DECEIVED; neither the immoral, no idolatoers, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, .....will inherit the kingdom of God.
I knew you were in trouble when your parents named you Chastity; they were asking for trouble for you. It wasn't funny. At their age they certainly knew better.

I come from a family that could be described as "Red-Neck." All of us are cut from that same cloth, so to speak but I have a Gay brother. When he came out to all of us it was a huge shock and we didn't know how to react. In the end we all decided just to love him like we always did. He remained a well loved and respected member of the family until his death to lymphoma some years later. So that is the key, love. I am a Christian and I understand why so many Christians feel the way they do about gay and trans-gender people but you shouldn't forget why you are. Stop hating and start loving. Their sin is no worse than yours. Bless you all.
