Anderson Gets First Flu Shot

Monday, October 17, 2011 4:17PM
Anderson isn't a fan of needles, but on Wednesday’s episode, Dr. Sanjay Gupta convinces him it’s important to get a flu shot.

“This is one of the ways we can prevent a big problem in this country,” says Dr. Gupta.” People don't realize, but the flu kills tens of thousands of people a year. The elderly and children are more at risk. It's a relatively simple thing to do, as you're about to find out...”

Watch as Anderson gets his first flu shot, a preview of Wednesday’s “Anderson Investigation...Germs” show

Anderson

Nice to see u can get a flue shot like a man and not a wimp u were honest about your fear of needles now if you could only be honest about other aspects of your life. I think your fans would respect you more if you told the truth about your sexual preferences, come on be a man tell the truth.

@Lynn: How about you educate yourself about the greater good of vaccination. How many lives are spare every year thanks to vaccines ? Millions. I can not believe people are still willing to put their kids lives and therefore my kids lives in danger by choosing not to vaccinate! i surely do not want to see polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus and all other tragic disease make a big come back in our country.
And if you are so ignorant as to not vaccinate, please take a trip to a 3rd world country were vaccinations are not readily available and take a good look at the sick and dying children whose lives could have been spared had they had a chance to get vaccines. Then hopefully your ignorance will fade a little !

There is nothing wrong with vaccinations! It is not hype it is scientific proof. There are many horrific diseases that have been near eliminated because of vaccinations. It's only because of the anti-vaccination crowd that alot of the diseases we thought were gone are coming back. Medications need to be respected. They were developed for a reason and have a valid and good purpose. There are potential side effects to anything that you put in your body. Anything not just medications. It's not the majority that ever have side-effects it is the minority. If you are ever in doubt of any medication have an informed discussion with your doctor or pharmacist. Stop the fear-mongering and get some common sense!

There is nothing wrong with vaccinations. I get the flu shot every year. I don't understand why building your immunity can be considered wrong. Obviously, some have adverse reactions, but for the greater society, it's good.

And they absolutely DO NOT cause autism, retardation, etc.....If anyone has VALID SCIENTIFIC proof that they are not good, for you, yes, I would looovve to see it. But the proof is out there. You can't go to school around here without vaccinations, and the population is ok.

Way to go Anderson! Live long and Prosper! - flu shots is not a bad thing - for those with reaction to flu shot may not be good. Prevention is the key. Medicines are not good for all. There are alternatives.

I am a Canadian, I have been watching Anderson Cooper show from the beginning.Your show is very interesting, like no other. Anderson you are such a down to earth person. So Anderson keep up the good work, we love you here in Canada. I would love to see someday the judges from Dancing with the Stars on your stage, I would love to see how they dance on stage.. and alittle about them. Plus all professional dancers on that program, to be interviewed about their personal life, that would be interesting .
Take care Maria ( Toronto Canada )
