I adore watching Sister Wives -- have been pleasantly surprised to go along their journey--from the most beautiful birth (Robyn's) I've ever seen-sniffle sniffle, to the way Christine's son, Hunter, was so depressed with the move--I truly was worried about him. The antics that Kody does with the kids--he's a great father and I do hope they all can move closer together so Kody can father more and all the kids can interact without having to get into a car. The multi-familyh home in Utah seemed great but needed to be expanded for Robyn and her 3 children by prior marriage and the child she and Kody have together. The adjustments each make in the relationship are amazing to me. And I respect the fact that NO discussion of sexual matters are discussed and they do have services at home at this point because of the move from Utah.

I was watching the Anderson Cooper Show about the Sister Wives. My question is why is it that it is only the man that chooses to have multiple wives? If it were the other way around, and the women chose to have multiple husbands how would the husbands feel about their wife sharing their bed with multiple men? I have never heard this brought up on any of the talk shows. Is it because the men would not have as many children. Let's face facts that it would be very hard a women to have so many children

I've been watching sister wives for awhile now and really don't understand a whole lot. I look at there lives and they seem to be happy with it and if it works for them, who am I to judge. All I know is in my religion we are NOT allowed to have more than one spouse and I wouldn't want to share my husband with anyone. I continue to watch the show to understand their lifestyle but I still don't. I notice that every time they are asked about their sexual relationship with Cody they always avoid the question. They clearly don't use protection they have all these children and what lesson is that teaching. They also talk about religion but they never go to church or fellowship with anyone. I'll contine watching sister wives......

I love Christine from the Sister Wives, she is so sweet. I can't imagine what she or the other women go through with jealousy issues. But I think they're beautiful strong women, and they should never be judged for their lifestyle.

I love the show, I don't have a problem with Cody having more than one wife, he supports wives and children, they do not ask for help from the government. We allow same sex marriages to take place, so why not? Its part of his religion and who am I to tell someone they can not believe in the way they do.

I LOVE the Sister wives. This is THEIR way of life. Who are you to judge? This is exactly whats wrong with alot of people in this world, if it is not something that you practice or you believe in then it's wrong? NO! They are happy and a loving caring family their children have a choice they are not going to force them to stay within this religion when they are adults even now they are not forcing it on them and they are wonderful parents. I fully support them. Although this life style may not be for me why is it wrong? Hes not a pervert he LOVES genuinly LOVES his family and all of his wives, what is wrong with that? Its no different then gay couples. People choose who THEY want to love and who are you to stop them? You are not God you are not supposed to judge or point your finger at anyone. If you believe in God then you should believe in that. I wish them the very best of luck the WHOLE FAMILY <3

I am not sure why, but I feel very passionate about this whole subject. It makes me angry and disgusted. I understand that this family is not like FLDS and Warren G (as far as we know)but why in the world would someone want to be with a man that can't commit to just one woman. I don't really see the benefit of having sister wives except the extra babysitters. It seems to me that Kody is pretty much a pervert, and the benefits for him are that he is guaranteed to get layed every night.

Obviously these people who claim to be fundamentalist LDS do NOT know the TRUE history of their religion and that the teachings of polygamy came NOT from the founder Joesph Smith Jr., who actually had revelations AGAINST polygamy (found in the ORIGINAL D & C) but from the usurper to the leadership, Brigham Young. The TRUE leader of the LDS church after Smith Jr. was murdered, was Joseph Smith III. Even though the courts declared the church headed by Joseph III to be the TRUE church, the body changed its name to Reorganized LDS to avoid the stigma of polygamy started by Young. His mother and widow of Joseph Jr., Emma Smith Hale and person who knew Joseph Jr. the best, remained a member of the RLDS as did many other original members.
Check your history, Browns, most of what you have been taught has been a perversion of the original doctrine. You follow a false prophet.

The kids in this family are doing well. Even when they have challenges or struggles, they are just like any other kids. This family has FIVE parents. Instead of viewing this as one dad being spread thin, and forcing this family into our monogamous lens, we need to understand that their family functions as five adults who are available to these children as involved, attentive parents. There is no neglect here. If you start arguing that there is neglect simply because this dad is not like what you think a dad should be, then I hate to think about how judgmental you are toward single mothers (or single fathers) who are raising their children on their own? Or gay parents of children who have two dads in the home or two moms in the home but not a dad and a mom? You can't tell me that loving parents who are dedicated and involved with their children are a harmful environment. How do fathers like Mr Duggar provide time, resources and attention for all of their large family of children (he has what, 19 children now?), especially where there are only two parents in the home? Is there neglect there? What about monogamous families like mine who have parents who both have to work, sometimes away from home, and have to balance both our jobs and time and attention to our families? Thank heaven I have parents who help provide a family support network for us or I couldn't do it. I for one am not about to criticize a family with additional parents to help provide that network. Some people are clearly very critical of other people's choices but maybe they should work on themselves instead of pointing fingers at others.

It is interesting to read all of these comments. Personally, I am not a fundamentalist Mormon, so I have no religious interest in polygamy. But I have chosen it. There are a lot of reasons for that, and I have chosen to start blogging about my experiences and views on polygamy today at www.polygrrl.com.

There definitely IS jealousy. The wives on Sister Wives even admit this - if you watch the show, I don't think they just paint a rosy picture.

However, when I see the Brown family children, they all seem fairly happy and well-adjusted. They have a close social network already in their home, which keeps them out of trouble in the world as well. They are allowed to choose for themselves whether they'll pursue this way of life as adults, and some think they may not choose it. I think the Browns are doing quite well as parents, although it is true that the reality show itself must be a difficult thing to live with.

I personally feel that Kody and his 4 wives can go to hell and do whatever they want. I do not feel that they should bring children into the relationship. Children do not have a choice as to who their parents are. The children are exposed to their way of thinking long before they are aware that they are in the minority of how other people live. Kody is very arrogant and selfish. There is no way in hell that I would ever share my husband but they are free to do as they please. I just think that it's gross to go from bed to bed and kissing wife after wife. They never address this part of their lives. They also never address how Kody is paying for 4 homes, food, clothing, insurance and day to day expenses. How can he afford this large family. I just feel sorry for the kids. The wives I feel are just plain stupid to live like this. There is no way in hell that he can please all 4 of these women. How can he spend quality time with all 16 kids and one on the way. He is not God or Superman. Someone is being neglected. I think that the wives have to put up a united front for the cameras. They want everyone to think that they are happy and that the kids are well adjusted. People will do anything for money and a show. These wives claim that there is no jealousy. Give me a f------ break. Tell me they are not bothered when they see Kody go into one of the bedrooms or when he comes home and gives them all a kiss. Gross again!!! Kody is a jerk in my opinion. By him having 4 wives is for his selfish ass and for no other reason.

Stephanie, I think you would be happier in life being more tolerant of other people's different choices. To each their own. And it couldn't hurt to take a spelling class and an english/grammer one too. It does wonders, in all reality, when you have low self esteem and feel the need to criticize, when they, themselves, are fine with their family decisions. I'd leave it up to their discretion on how to raise their own kids and work on how to get some empathy for yourself.
