All I could think about today watching the clips is our lives are quite similiar. Why can't I meet someone like you? My mom wasn't a national figure but was HUGE in her space and what she says now. It is interesting to live with them at this age and express the feelings and thoughts they have. I will say it touched me when I saw you take your moms hand when they sang How Great Thou Art. It was my dad's favorite song too. I can'*****ch it during the day but after seeing the clips I will be recording it to watch at night. Thanks Anderson!
Anderson, on your show today your Mom said a very poignant statement that went something like this; "our purpose in life is not to...??? but I can't remember the rest, only that it is remarkable and would like to write it down. An open and honest show today. Good work. Thanks
My son committed suicide 7 years ago, it is a mother's daily heart break. I applaud Gloria Vanderbuilt for speaking about her loss and that she is dealing with it on a daily basis as am I.
Mental illness should be treated as being as significant as cancer.
Anderson todays show made me cry. I loved that you shared your mother with us viewers. I was thinking about my mom who is still alive but has dementia. It made me feel guilty that i had not went to visit her for awhile. After your show today I went to visit her. So I say thank you.
Thank you!!! :)
I just love your show Anderson, especially the chemistry between you and Cathy. It's like she is tickling you without touching you.........and you so enjoy her while waiting for the 'boot to drop'!.........
Anderson--You and your mother have the power to help break through the silence and the stigma of suicide and mental health issues. Thank you for not shying away--I hope that you will both continue to share with others. Carter's life was--and remains--important! Thank you.
I am a 73 year old viewer. I have read your book and have been a big fan since Katrina. I have 5 kids and 8 grandkids, but, sorry to say, my family is pretty dysfunctional. You are so fortunate that you have the relationship that you do with your mom. We have a rule in our house never to watch daytime tv. We had to break it today. The show was wonderful and very moving. Thanks!
Anderson,
I must admit, I have never been a fan of yours in the past. However, I find the content and format of your new show very enjoyable. Convert in progress.
I have to say that I've seen many comments online since Anderson Cooper said he was going to start this show that he was turning celebrity however after watching his show today, I strongly disagree with that. I think moments of the show today proved that he is just an average guy with a heart. Loved seeing him with his Mom, she's absolutely gorgeous!
I WATCHED YOUR SHOW TODAY WITH MY SISTER . YOU & YOUR MOM ARE AMAZING :)) WE WERE SO MOVED & SHED TEARS TOO. LUV U BOTH
WOW talk about being born with a silver spoon in your mouth
Anderson, I was deeply touched by the show today. As a psychologist,I wanted to say that you and your mom gave others an important gift by discussing the suicide of your brother Carter. Too often people suffer alone with their family secrets. You are an honorable man as your father wanted you to be. Susan
Caught your show today, and wanted to say "thank you" for sharing your mom and yourself with us! It was heartwarming for me to catch a glimpse of the delight and love you have for one another.
